Celebrity Cruises - Safety protocols.04.02.2022 16:41
Requirements for vaccines

What vaccines does Royal Caribbean accept?

Royal Caribbean accepts vaccines that are fully approved or authorized for emergency use by the US FDA or the World Health Organization. All doses of your vaccine must be from the same manufacturer and type (e.g. mRNA) in the required number of doses to be considered fully administered (e.g. 2 doses of Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, etc. or 1 injection of Johnson & Johnson vaccine) ... A guest is considered fully vaccinated 14 days after the completion of vaccination.

See US FDA Approved Vaccines.

See World Health Organization Approved Vaccines

Vaccine policies are subject to change as we track the evolution of public health guidelines and government regulations.

Mixed vaccines from different manufacturers

We accept mixed vaccination with doses from different manufacturers, provided that your batch of vaccine meets the following requirements:

- Guests must receive at least two doses of vaccines fully approved or cleared for emergency use by the US FDA or World Health Organization.
- Two doses should be given at least 28 days apart *.
- The last dose must be delivered at least 14 days before departure.

* For guests departing from ports outside the United States: When combined AstraZeneca and mRNA vaccines (Pfizer or Moderna), there must be at least 42 days between the two doses.

Mixed vaccines are not accepted at all ports of call. Guests who have received a mixed batch vaccination may be prohibited from going ashore at these ports, or they may need to undergo additional testing if they wish to disembark.

Testing

If you require a COVID test in advance to board your ship, please read these rules carefully.

What tests are accepted:

There are two common types of diagnostic tests for COVID-19, and we accept either of them:
- Molecular test, also called PCR test or NAAT test.
- Antigen test, also called rapid antigen test
The test must be supervised by a healthcare professional, such as a doctor, pharmacist at a pharmacy, public health worker, or telemedicine specialist.

You must receive a valid results document from the testing laboratory, stating the name of the laboratory, your name, the date of the test, the type of test, and a negative result. You can print the document, show the results in an email or lab attachment. Handwritten doctor's notes will not be accepted.
Self-testing at home is only allowed if it meets the specific requirements below.

Tests we do not accept

- Antibody tests are not accepted because they do not detect an ongoing infection.
- It also does not accept home testing kits that are self-administered at home and not monitored by a telemedicine professional.

Learn more about testing at home

Self-testing under the supervision of a telemedicine professional conducted at home under live surveillance must meet the following requirements:

- The test must be approved for emergency use by the US FDA.
- Only vaccinated guests will be able to submit a home test result for boarding the liner
- The self-test process should take place under direct supervision during a video call with a telemedicine representative.
- The telemedicine provider must give you a results document that includes all the information you need.
- An example of one test that meets these parameters is the Abbott BinaxNow COVID-19 Ag Card Test, available through the Abbott Navica app or eMed.com. Please note that this test kit must be shipped to your home in most cases and may take up to 5 business days to ship (to the US) after you order.

Learn more about the Abbott brand tests

We get a lot of questions about Abbott tests, the most affordable brand of COVID-19 tests. The following tests are accepted:

- Any Abbott branded tests performed onsite by a pharmacy technician or other healthcare professional will be accepted. They should provide you with a proper document of the results (no handwritten notes).
- Accepted Abbott BinaxNow COVID-19 Ag Card test, which is performed at home and under the supervision of a telemedicine specialist. This must be done under the supervision of live video.
- Abbott BinaxNow COVID-19 Self Testing, if done at home and not supervised by a healthcare professional, will NOT be accepted.

Where and when to take the test

For shipments before September 13 from US ports and from Nassau

When scheduling a test withThere are some additional things to keep in mind:
For cruises requiring a test at least 3 days prior to departure. How to calculate "3 days until": The day you go on the cruise does not count as one of the days. So, for example, if you go on a cruise on Saturday, you can take the test on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.
Make sure your chosen testing provider can provide you with a valid results document prior to travel.

For shipments after September 13th from US ports and from Nassau

- Vaccinated guests 12 years of age or older must submit a negative COVID-19 test (PCR or antigen test) that was performed no earlier than 2 days before departure.
- Unvaccinated guests between the ages of 2 and 11 must show a negative PCR test performed at least 3 days before departure. Antigen tests are not accepted.
- Guests under 2 years old do not need to take tests.
- The cost of testing is paid by the guest.

You will present your negative test result at the terminal upon boarding. Print the result if possible. We will also accept a valid results document presented on your phone.
