Alaska cruises in July!21.05.2021 12:43
Three cruise companies at once announced the resumption of cruises in Alaska!

Carnival Corporation announced on 20.05.2021 that it plans to resume cruises in Alaska on ships of three brands:

- Carnival Cruise Line;
- Princess Cruises;
- Holland America Line.

All Alaska Cruises

Let's analyze the entire chronology of events and consider the likelihood of resuming cruises together with the experts from Four Gates Ukraine.

Let's start with the meeting on the joint lawsuit of the cruise companies and the US government against the CDC, which took place on 05/12/2021 in Florida.
Three states at once (Florida, Alaska and Texas) have joined the cruise line's lawsuit against the CDC, which is not surprising. The unreasonable restrictions and prohibitions that the CDC created resulted in colossal losses and unemployment!
For example, Florida lost $ 3.2 billion in the first six months of the pandemic alone. 49,500 jobs were cut, resulting in more than $ 2.3 billion in unpaid wages.
On 12 May 2021, a trial was held in which the judge did not accept either side. As a result, it was appointed to resolve the dispute on their own by making a compromise. The parties are obliged to conclude the final agreement by 01.06.2021. And the court-appointed attorney Joseph H. Warner III will manage the project and oversee the process.

Then the more productive and mutually beneficial work of both CDC and cruise companies began.

After 12/05/2021, CDC began negotiations with cruise lines to work towards a safe return to work in July. On 5/17/2021, Carnival Cruise Line President and CEO Christine Duffy said they are actively discussing with the CDC all aspects of a return to cruises in July.
Prior to the lawsuit, the CDC published its technical instructions that cruise lines had to go through to begin cruises. But many, including government officials, called these instructions largely unworkable and absurd.
After the lawsuit, the good news came out that the agency is making changes to the regulations to make things easier. Just a few days ago, the testing details were clarified, several new sections were added. All this leads to the fact that all cruises from the United States will be for vaccinated tourists only.

High rate of vaccination in the USA

The rate of vaccination in the United States is good news. As of 05/19/2021, the number of vaccinated residents of the country was:
Population - 332,712,000
The number of vaccinated - 159 174 963 (47.84%)
Fully (twice) vaccinated - 125 453 423 (37.71%)
So we see the real number of US residents who are potential clients of cruise lines. In fact, there are 125,453,423 people, and this number is growing.
Easing US coronavirus bans
Since mid-May, strong relief on coronavirus has begun in the United States. Hotels, restaurants, shopping centers and other public places are open. Moreover, in most of these places, wearing masks is optional.

Government pressure on CDC

Because of the absurd situation in which the CDC allows all land-based tourism and various types of business to fully operate, but does not allow cruises. Cruise states are suffering big losses, which also affects the rating of politicians. As you understand, no one wants to lose ratings. Therefore, congressmen and other politicians have been working closely with cruise companies since 2020 on all processes that are aimed at resuming cruises.

CONCLUSIONS
From all the above facts, the following conclusions can be drawn:

1. The likelihood of resumption of cruises from the United States at the end of July is very high;
2. All personnel of the liner will be vaccinated;
3. For cruises from the USA, at the moment, guests will also need to be vaccinated;
4. Cruises will operate in accordance with safety protocols that CDC will develop in conjunction with cruise lines. The protocols will be detailed after 06/01/2021.
As a reminder, cruises in Europe start in June and July:

Jewel of the Seas - from 10.07.2021 will operate cruises from Limassol to Cyprus.
* vaccine needed.

Celebrity Apex (new premium cruise ship) - from 19.06.2021 will operate cruises from the port of Piraeus (Athens), Greece.
* vaccine needed.

And of course cruises aboard Celestyal Cruises.

You don't need vaccinations to board the ships of this company! A PCR test is sufficient.
Celestyal Crystal - cruises without vaccine start on 06/12/2021!
Celestyal Olympia - cruises without vaccine start on 28.06.2021!

These cruises have created a real boom! These are not only the only cruises that are actually available now, but cruises that do not require a vaccine to board!
In addition, the cruise company provided incredible cruise booking conditions!

And cruise prices from 299 euros per person!

Of course, places for summer cruises are being sorted out before our eyes.
