Seasons in Zanzibar
The Zanzibar Islands archipelago is located 30 km east of the African coast, in the southern hemisphere just below the equatorial line. Zanzibar has a monsoon climate. This means that the usual change of seasons is not here. In Zanzibar, the seasons are divided into dry and rainy.
There are 4 seasons on the island: a short dry season, a long rainy season, a long dry season, and a season of short rains.
The best time to relax is the main dry season. It lasts throughout our summer months, June, July, August, as well as September and October.
Then comes the season of short rains - it lasts in November and December. Usually, during this period, the rains do not interfere with full rest on the island. It can rain for as little as 20 minutes a day and the weather is improving quickly.
Zanzibar has a short dry season in January and February. At this time, it is very comfortable to rest on the island.
There are frequent heavy showers from April to May, usually in the afternoon. During the day, high humidity remains, the air temperature is kept at +30 ° C. It is not recommended to travel with children during this period - mosquitoes are activated during the wet season.
