REMINDER TO THE ABROAD (this information applies to all countries of the world and may be useful to you on further travels abroad)
You are going on a trip abroad. In this case, you need to know that in a number of foreign countries there is a real possibility of infection with especially dangerous infectious and parasitic diseases that affect the vital organs of the human body, and can lead to the death of the patient.
Among such diseases, the most dangerous are cholera, plague, yellow fever, HIV infection (AIDS), malaria (a large number of deaths), hydrophobia (rabies).
Recently, in connection with the development of international tourism, cases of infection of citizens with the above infectious diseases have become more frequent, which is associated with their FAILURE TO COMPLETE OBLIGATORY PREVENTIVE MEASURES. Therefore, we recommend that you, while on a tourist trip abroad, observe the following simple rules for the prevention of the above infectious diseases:
use guaranteed safe water and drinks (boiled water, drinking water and drinks only in their original packaging);
wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly with safe water;
avoid food from trays and non-certified state-owned cafes and restaurants;
when swimming in ponds and pools, try to prevent water from entering the mouth;
follow basic rules of personal hygiene (wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before eating and preparing food, after using the toilet);
do not make contact with stray animals. If you inflict even a minor wound on your animals, see a doctor immediately. Untimely access to a doctor in contact with a rabid animal is fatal in 100% of cases;
beware of bites by mosquitoes, mosquitoes and other insects, using protective creams, aerosols, etc. For the prevention of malaria, you can purchase the drug DELAGIL at the pharmacy. It is necessary to consult a doctor about the method of its use;
beware of casual sex, use condoms and other protective equipment;
do not purchase items of clothing from random people (it is possible to get infected with diseases transmitted by contact);
it is not recommended to walk barefoot and in open shoes.
Some features and symptoms of the most dangerous infectious diseases
Recently, there has been an increase in the number of countries in the world where the incidence and outbreaks of cholera are recorded. The most unfavorable countries for cholera on the European and Asian continents are: India, Laos, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Afghanistan. Cholera pathogens (vibrios) enter the human body through the mouth with water or food. The most dangerous foods are those that are not cooked - raw fruits and vegetables, liquid foods such as milk, etc. Infection is also possible through contaminated objects (dishes, bed linen, etc.). The incubation period for cholera is 5 days. The characteristic signs of cholera are diarrhea and vomiting, which result in dehydration. Cholera is fatal in case of delay in seeking medical help.
The carrier of the causative agent of the plague is fleas that parasitize on rodents. There are two types of plague:
Bubonic plague - infection occurs through contact (bite) with infected animals. Symptoms are swollen lymph nodes.
The pneumonic form of plague is transmitted by airborne droplets. Symptoms are a sudden rise in temperature, chills, severe headache, shortness of breath, and coughing up blood.
The incubation period for plague is from several hours to 6 days. Only with timely access to a doctor is the treatment of plague possible.
Acute viral disease. This virus is carried by mosquitoes. Accordingly, infection can occur both in nature and in the city. Symptoms are headache, high fever, rash. The incubation period is 3 - 6 days. The specified disease is common in 47 countries of the South American and African continents. When traveling to these countries, vaccination is required, which is the only and mandatory measure to prevent this disease. Vaccinations are carried out at least 10 days before departure. The vaccine lasts 10 years.
Distributed in almost all countries of the world, including the USA and Europe. In case of infection with the immunodeficiency virus, a person becomes a carrier of HIV infection and, while remaining outwardly completely healthy for a long time, can infect sexual partners. HIV infection leads to the development of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Today's medicine does not know effective remedies against AIDS. The characteristic signs of this disease are: sudden weight loss, chronic diarrhea, swollen lymph nodes, fungal diseases. The most reliable way of prevention is to avoid questionable sex. A fairly reliable means of prevention is the use of condoms, especially in combination with spermicidal ointments.
If you develop symptoms that may indicate your possible illness, you should immediately consult a doctor. Self-medication can aggravate your condition and lead to the most tragic consequences. If you feel unwell on your return to Moscow on the plane, be sure to contact the flight attendant. REMEMBER that COVERING an illness entails ADMINISTRATIVE and CRIMINAL LIABILITY.

Until May 31, the use of a mask (surgical mask or respirator) will be mandatory.
• In closed public areas;
• In the open air, where it is impossible to maintain social distance;
• During the transfer (for example, by bus or boat).
If the dynamics of infections allow, then from June 1, Costa Cruises will repeal this rule, and the use of the mask will be mandatory only in elevators, during boarding and disembarking on land, in buses, on boats, and in case of visiting the cabin doctor.
The same rules apply as on land: it is desirable to observe the distance, but not necessarily.
For all guests vaccinated with vaccines that have been approved by the EMA (European Medicines Agency) Pfizer, Novovax, Moderna, AstraZeneca, J&J - the following rules apply:
• The mid-cruise test is no longer conducted unless otherwise ordered by local authorities;
• Temperature will no longer be measured (except for routes passing through Spanish ports - on such routes the temperature is measured during landing and during the cruise).
Guests over the age of 12 vaccinated with an EMA-approved vaccine must be tested for the antigen every 48 hours.
It will be possible to use services in public places on ships (for example, in restaurants, theaters, spas, gyms, bars, shops, gaming rooms, casinos) in compliance with the rules provided for similar establishments on land. The occupancy rate of these establishments will return to 100%.
A self-service buffet will once again be available for guests.
In all ports, guests will be offered a large list of excursions to choose from, they will also be able to go to the ports of call on their own.
The capacity of buses intended for excursions and passenger transportation will again be 100%. To track possible contacts with guests who received positive test results, a scheme of places will be drawn up. Persons in close contact will be considered 2 passengers in the front row, in the back row and on the side of the passenger who received positive test results. All passengers are required to wear a mask (surgical mask or respirator) and sit in their designated area throughout the journey.
1. Are the measures provided for in the protocols also applicable outside Italy?
Yes. The new protocols meet the requirements set by all countries to whose ports Costa ships will call, including those that are not members of the European Union. There is only one small exception related to boarding in Greek ports.
2. What is provided for those who board the ports of Greece?
Passengers boarding in Greek ports must be tested 24 hours before boarding, not 48 hours as in other ports.
3. Will the safety protocols for cruises this fall and winter remain the same as they will be from May 1?
It should be clarified at once that the protocols are not permanent and change depending on the general situation and the decisions taken by the authorities of the countries whose borders are crossed by Costa Cruises. Thus, if we talk about cruises that will take place many months later, we can assume that by that time additional changes will be made to the measures provided for today. At the same time, at the moment, the measures that are in force since May 1, are also relevant for cruises, the start date of which falls on the period from the end of summer.
4. Will an antigen test 48 hours before departure be mandatory even if the infection situation continues to improve?
At the moment, Costa Cruises believes that this requirement must still be in place for guests to enjoy a safe and peaceful journey. If the overall situation improves, the cruise company will evaluate the possibility of easing the rules of boarding.
5. Do the new rules of boarding apply only to those who have been infected with coronavirus and vaccinated in a single dose, or also to those who have contracted coronavirus but have not been vaccinated?
Guests over the age of 12 who have had Covid but have not received a single dose of the vaccine cannot board. A certificate of recovery alone (without any vaccinations) is not a sufficient basis for boarding.
6. What is provided for those who have been vaccinated or become ill, but who do not have a green pass certificate?
Those who do not have a green pass certificate can board after presenting similar certificates confirming full vaccination or receiving at least one dose of vaccine after recovery from Covid.
7. When must such certificates be issued in order for them to be valid?
The rules established for the validity of the certificate in the country of embarkation should be followed.
8. What is provided for guests who, in the period before departure, were in close contact with a person who received positive test results?
Such guests may board the ship only after 10 days from the last contact with the person who received confirmed positive test results.
9. What measures are provided for guests who have a certificate confirming the fact of vaccination with a vaccine not approved by the EMA (European Medicines Agency)?
Guests are still required to provide negative results for the antigen test performed 48 hours before boarding. In addition, guests will be obliged after boarding We test for antigen every 48 hours. This measure does not apply to children under 12 years of age.
10. Is there a social distance on board?
As with land, it is recommended to maintain a social distance of at least one meter as a precautionary measure on board.
11. Will the capacity of the vessel be reduced?
There must be enough free cabins on board to be sufficient to comply with the temporary isolation / quarantine measures provided for in the protocol. The number of such cabins is 2% of the number of passengers and 2% of the crew.
12. Do I need to wear a mask on board?
At the moment, it is mandatory to wear it in closed public areas and in open areas, where social distance is impossible. If the dynamics of infections allow, then from June 1, the cruise company will make it optional to wear masks in public areas. However, wearing masks will be mandatory in elevators, during boarding and disembarking, on buses, on boats, as well as in the case of visiting the cabin of a ship's doctor.
13. How will the service on board change? For example, a buffet? Jacuzzi? Spas? Will there be holidays on board again?
It will be possible to use the services on board in compliance with the rules provided for similar services on land. So, for example, the load of restaurants, theaters, spas, gyms and bars on board will return to 100%. The resumption of the entertainment program, including discos and holidays on board, has been confirmed. The buffet will be offered in self-service mode and will include ready meals and individual portions.
14. Will temperature measurement at the landing stage and on board be mandatory?
This is no longer a mandatory requirement. At the moment, the temperature is measured only when landing in Spanish ports; in addition, the temperature is measured at least once during cruises on routes passing through Spanish ports. The temperature is measured using special terminals installed on board ships.
15. If a guest on board receives positive test results, will he be able to land and return home at his own expense?
The health authorities of the landing port will evaluate each case. With permission from the health authorities, guests can go home in their car or in a protected vehicle. If the distance between the landing port and the place of residence is large, the health authorities will ask for an isolation period in the COVID onshore ward.
16. Can guests who have been in close contact with those who have tested positive (family members of such persons) board / stay on board?
If positive results were obtained during boarding, the person who received positive results, as well as those who travel with him / her, cannot board.
If positive results were obtained during the cruise, then persons in close contact with the patient should be tested immediately. In the event of a negative result, persons in close contact with the patient may remain on board, but must comply with certain rules.
Guests who have been vaccinated (or received a booster dose) more than 120 days ago or who have recovered from the disease more than 90 days ago are required to spend 5 days in a quarantine cabin; after this period and before returning to the activities on board, they must be tested for Covid, and within 10 days after contact with a person who has tested positive, they must continue to wear a respirator.
If those who have been in close contact with the patient have been vaccinated or received a booster dose less than 120 days ago, or if they have recovered from the disease less than 90 days ago, they are only required to eat in the cabin for the first Use respirator for 5 days and 10 days.
17. In case of disembarkation of guests who received positive results, will the cruise still continue in accordance with the program?
Yes, it will continue according to the program. If the number of passengers who test positive increases significantly, all guests on board may be tested in consultation with the health authorities; the list of services provided on board may also be changed to limit the possibility of the virus spreading.
18. Will there be a limited number of seats on buses used for passenger transport and excursions?
These vehicles will be 100% full. Passengers will be required to wear a mask (not necessarily a respirator, a regular surgical mask will also work). The scheme of seats will be made, it will be impossible to change a place, and if the passenger receives positive results of the test, the persons who were in close contact with it, will consider those who were in 2 seats in each direction from the person who received confirmed positive test results.
