The cruise ship Ponant Le Dumont d'Urville is the 4th of all six ships of the Compagnie du Ponant (CDP) polar expedition. Advertised as "expedition yachts" from the same "Explorer" series as well as Le Champlain (2018), Le Laperouse (2018), Le Bougainville (2019), Le Bellot (2020) and Le Jacques Cartier (fka Le Surville ) (2020) - all named after famous French explorers of the sea.

Le Dumont d'Urville features an aft marina and an underwater Blue Eye lounge.

The jetty, located at the rear of Deck 3, provides passengers with easy access to the Zodiac ship fleet, as well as sailing in the water (conditions permitting) and kayaking.

The Blue Eye Lounge, located below the water line, gives passengers the opportunity to see the passing marine life through two giant windows, as well as digital screens projected on live images captured by three underwater cameras. Specially designed hydrophones located under the keel of the ship allow people in the cabin to hear underwater sounds from a distance of up to 5 kilometers. In addition, underwater sounds resonate as passengers can sit on special sofas.

Other public areas include the infinity pool, 188-seat theater and the main lounge.

During the cruise, children can play video games in a special children's room, as well as relax and have fun in the recreation area or arrange dancing time on the dance floor.

At the rear of Deck 4 you will find a 260 m² panoramic restaurant that can accommodate all passengers in one sitting.
