MSC Euribia is the second LNG-powered MSC Cruises liner named after the ancient Greek goddess.

On 06/28/2021, a cutting ceremony was held on the "first steel" ship at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, France.

MSC Euribia will be the second LNG-powered vessel in the MSC Cruises fleet to achieve significant emission reductions

The liner will enter the cruise company's fleet in June 2023 and will become the 22nd vessel in the MSC Cruises lineup.

Cruise company MSC Cruises has devoted all its efforts to building environmentally friendly cruise ships. As a result, MSC Euribia will become the second cruise ship in the fleet to operate on liquefied natural gas.

LNG is by far the cleanest ship fuel currently available and virtually eliminates the emission of pollutants such as sulfur oxides (99%), nitrogen oxides (85%) and particulates (98%).

Environmental technologies MSC Euribia:

Engines and fuel:

4 Wärtsilä dual-fuel engines (12V and 16V), fueled by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and (sometimes) marine gas oil with a sulfur content of 0.1% (MGO). Therefore, a cruise ship does not require an exhaust aftertreatment system.

Air emissions:

Selective catalytic reduction system that reduces NOx emissions by up to 90%. When the vessel is running on MGO (LNG offers a similar NOx reduction) - MSC Euribia will meet IMO Tier III standards regardless of the fuel used.

Possibility of connecting the vessel to the power grids in the ports, which will allow the liner to operate without the engines turned on.

Wastewater:

- An advanced wastewater treatment system that complies with International Maritime Organization resolution MEPC 227 (64) to the strictest global standards.

- An improved ballast water treatment system will prevent the introduction of invasive species into the marine environment through the discharge of ballast water.

Protection of marine life:

Underwater noise management system with hull and engine room design that minimizes sound exposure, reducing their potential impact on marine life, especially marine mammals in surrounding waters.

Energy efficiency:

All new developments at MSC Cruises include a wide range of energy efficient equipment to help reduce and optimize engine use. These include:

- intelligent ventilation system;

- modern air conditioning systems with automatic energy recovery circuits that redistribute heat and cold.

- LED lightening,

- intelligent control systems, to further improve energy saving.

MSC Euribia will also be equipped with automatic data collection systems for remote monitoring of energy consumption and advanced analysis, which will enable real-time support to optimize operational efficiency on board.

Meraviglia Plus class ships feature new original shows. A total of eight different shows are available on the MSC Meraviglia and Meraviglia-plus ships. Each of the 4 ships offers 2 new contrast shows, the first 2 of which debuted in June 2017.

Exclusively for Euribia, MSC has developed 7 live performances that take place weekly at the Delphi Theatre. The theatre's performances span a wide range of genres, from the 1920 Circus acrobatic shows to Generation Rock themes and Illuminity technical shows. Also featured are Jukebox L!ve, Song Book - Ed Sheeran, Guest Entertainers and Variety Shows, which include both regular and guest performers.

The Euribia ship has its own big band, consisting of 19 musicians and singers, who perform live every evening in the Carousel Lounge.

The MSC Euribia boasts an extensive entertainment infrastructure including a large Savannah Aquapark connected to an indoor amusement park on two levels and a 2-story entertainment space (inner waterfront). There are specialized restaurants, bars, duty-free shops. The promenade is adorned with an LED domed ceiling called a "digital sky" that features visual shows.

Euribia Atrium serves as the multi-deck central part of the ship, where a variety of entertainment programs are held.

The Cyber Library and Cyber Cafe provide an opportunity for guests to use the Internet and computers in a comfortable environment.

Delphi Theater has a capacity of 945 seats. Grandiose shows are held here, including classical music concerts, with three performances per night.

L'Atelier Bistrot (L'Atelier Bar & Art lounge) offers a stage for live performances including jazz, as well as a large dance floor and art gallery.

The Euribia ship features 12 weekly Cirque du Soleil performances in the Carousel Lounge.
