The Star of the Seas cruise ship, which will launch in 2025 (currently under construction), is the second ICON class ship from RCI - Royal Caribbean.
President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, Michael Bailey, believes `Star of the Seas` is the perfect name for a ship that symbolizes the expectations of a new class of ship, combining a variety of leisure activities into an unforgettable adventure.
Interestingly, `Star of the Seas` was one of four possible names for the ship proposed for voting on social media in January 2023.
One important detail about Star of the Seas is already known: it will be the third ship in Royal Caribbean's fleet to run on liquefied natural gas (LNG). This will combine the use of the cleanest marine fuels with industry-leading environmental programs on board. Featuring a variety of innovations including heat recovery systems and shore power connectivity, the ship will be one of the greenest ships in the fleet and will contribute to parent company Royal Caribbean Group's strategy to achieve net-zero emissions from cruise ships by 2035.
