Costa Cruises took over the new ship Costa Smeralda at the Meyer shipyard, Finland, where the ship was built.
The new liner will embark on its first week-long cruise on December 21 from Savona visiting Marseille, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Civitavecchia and La Spezia
The liner will operate this route until May 16, 2020.
Costa Smeralda is the first ship to run on liquefied natural gas.
The liner is also a significant innovative product, and Italian hospitality remains a fundamental and distinctive element of our brand, able to enchant and excite not only new cruise passengers, but more experienced ones as well.
More cruises on the Costa Smeralda
Despite the fact that cruise lines have resumed cruises on most of their cruise ships, there are ships that are still not running!
