On October 20, 2019, the ship will debut on a 15-day cruise around Europe (from Hamburg to Savona), where she will be baptized on November 3.

That is why I am especially pleased to present a preview of our new flagship - Costa Smeralda. The next generation ship that will bring even more opportunities for new cruising guests, offering them an unforgettable experience, ”commented Neil Palomba, President of Costa Cruises.
“With this ship we wanted to celebrate our country once again: from design to food and wine, everything on board the Costa Smeralda will reflect the best of Italy, a country that has always been an example of hospitality.”
Also, according to the company, each deck will be dedicated to a separate city in Italy. So, for example, deck 4 will be dedicated to the city of Palermo and deck 20 to the city of Trieste.
Another feature will be the three-level Colosseum in the center of the ship, where the best show will take place.
On board there will also be a museum with an area of 400 sq. m. in which passengers will be introduced to the history of the construction of the liner.
