The start dates for air flights have been announced!19.05.2020 11:33
One by one, carriers return previously operated or announced routes to their booking systems. And what pleases me is that most of them include Ukraine in their upcoming flight schedules.
The SWISS website, for example, sells flights from Kiev to Zurich, tickets for direct flights can be booked starting from June 21, and options with connections in Vienna are available for previous dates. The Ryanair website already presents an extensive geography of flights, including to Greece (Athens) from July 4, to Cyprus (Paphos) from July 5, to Spain (Barcelona, Valencia and Madrid) from June 21, July 4 and June 21, respectively. ...
Judging by the routes announced on the Wizz Air website, this carrier is also optimistic: there are tickets on sale for the summer to Athens and Thessaloniki, as well as to nine cities in Germany. But SkyUp and FlyDubai seem to be looking into the future with the greatest confidence: the Ukrainian airline offers to fly from Kiev to Paris and Pardubice on May 23, and on May 27 - to Larnaca.
The Arab carrier sells tickets Kiev - Dubai with departures starting from June 5. Earlier flights to Ukraine were announced by other carriers - Lufthansa, airBaltic, Czech Airlines. UIA has not yet sold tickets for international flights until July 1. This is reported by avianews.com with reference to the statement of UIA President Yevgeny Dykhne.
Based on this, experts call the probable date of the start of flights to Ukraine around July 1: such a conclusion is also prompted by the fact that other airlines also begin sales on flights to our country on close dates. Although officially no one names the start date for flights from Ukraine. Therefore, the airlines have no choice but to shift the start dates of flights.
The head of the Emirates department, Kompas company Alexander Shchekin recalled that the same FlyDubai had repeatedly changed the start time of their flights. And it is possible that they will do it again. “But I still hope that after such giants of aviation as Emirates or Etihad Airways massively take off, the Ukrainian sky will also open,” he suggests. At the same time, Alexander notes that in the near future there will be no return to the usual volumes, the airlines will look at each other in terms of security measures and other nuances. But ultimately, the deferred demand and the desire to travel will do their job, and Ukraine will also fit into this trend.
The opening of borders should also push the opening of the Ukrainian sky - this process has already partially started. Last week, the Slovenian government announced the end of the coronavirus epidemic: the borders of this state are already open to all citizens of EU countries. Since May 9, Croatia is also open: anyone who has booked accommodation can enter here and can document this.
The exit of these countries from isolation, according to observers, is associated not only with a small number of cases, but also with a reluctance to allow the economy to stagnate, which would be very likely in the absence of the tourist sector. According to the European Commissioner for Internal Affairs Ilva Johansson, the process of opening the internal borders of the EU countries will begin from mid-June. The issue of opening external borders is also on the agenda, but they have not yet begun to discuss it.
