We have been waiting for at least some information about plans to resume cruises!21.05.2020 12:46
We have been waiting for at least some information about plans to resume cruises. We all understand that the world of travel will never be the same. In many areas of our life, life has been divided into "before COVID-19" and "after COVID-19". All this has not spared the cruise industry ...

The cruise company Royal Caribbean Cruises plans to commission the liners of its fleet as part of a four-stage Healthy Return to Service Program. Chief Executive Officer Richard Fain said a team of experts had been created specifically for this. The program will only be launched when the entire team of experts is ready to 100% confirm the maximum safety for cruise ship passengers.

At the moment, cruises on the ships of Royal Caribbean International have been suspended until 07/31/2020. But cruise restorations around the world will take place at different times in different regions. Thus, Jason Liberty, the company's chief financial officer, said that it is quite possible that cruises in Europe and Asia may begin earlier. He also said that in order to achieve the desired EBITDA level, the loading of newer liners should be at least 30%, and older ones 50% (this is mainly due to the size of the liners).

Terms of transfer and booking cruises

In the two months since the suspension of cruises, the company has worked tirelessly to repatriate guests and crew to their homes, Richard Fine said. The crew comes from over 100 countries around the world with varying security protocols and travel restrictions. Currently, he said, more than 10,000 crew members are transported on nine liners to many ports for onward transfer home.

Going forward, the priorities are clear, Fine added. The company will work to protect its guests and team, improve its liquidity, protect the company's brands and travel partners, and prepare for the new regulations.
