The UN has developed protocols for tour operators, hotels and airlines, as well as provided forecasts for the recovery of international tourism.

 

The coronavirus has caused unprecedented losses to the entire world economy and international tourism in particular. There hasn't been such a slump in tourism since the 1950s. According to forecasts, losses may reach 70% of the market by August. This assessment was given by the Secretary General of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) - Zurab Pololikashvili. However, the industry began to recover and the organization developed security protocols for tour operators, hotels and airlines.

 

As a reminder, all cruise companies have given a forecast for the resumption of cruises!

 

“Depending on when travel restrictions are lifted, UNWTO warns that international tourist arrivals could drop 60 to 80 percent. This jeopardizes 100-120 million jobs and could lead to a loss of $ 910 billion to $ 1.2 trillion, ”said the UNWTO Secretary General.

 

The developed protocols have a set of measures designed to help all tourism entities in this difficult time and to make tourism safe. At the moment, more specific information is not available, and the protocols themselves will be available later.
