Norwegian Cruise Line Releases New Health Protocols!03.06.2020 13:44
The cruise line Norwegian Cruise Line has released a number of new health protocols on its website. As part of its “Peace of Mind” policy, the company is hiring a public health officer for each ship and is expanding medical personnel throughout the fleet.

The cruise line supervises the installation of medical grade H13 HEPA air filters, which remove 99.95% of airborne pathogens to keep the air clean.

All guests will undergo an extended medical check-up before boarding, and those at higher risk will receive an additional check-up. In addition, the entire crew will be carefully screened before boarding and monitored throughout the entire flight, Norwegian said. Non-contact temperature checks and constant monitoring of guests and crew throughout the flight will help identify potential health issues, offering an additional layer of prevention and protection.

The company noted that all ships will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to each voyage in accordance with the company's protocols, which are being developed in collaboration with the CDC Ship Sanitation Program.

The embarkation terminals will be continuously disinfected before and after each embarkation and disembarkation.

In addition, all cabins, suites and public areas will be cleaned and disinfected more frequently using electrostatic spray technology, including cleaning in cabins and public areas with hypochlorous acid disinfectant (HOCI). Hypochlorous acid is a non-toxic, powerful oxidizing agent that effectively kills bacteria, spores, and viruses.

“Our 24/7 prevention schedule will include continuous disinfection of public and high traffic areas. We will ensure continuous cleaning of all elevators and all public areas during peak hours and after hours, ”comments Norwegian Cruise Line.

Buffets and eateries will be fully serviced by staff who are ready to serve guests.

In terms of ship loading, the company said it will not be fully loaded and is working to get COVID-19 rapid test kits on board.
