Odyssey of the Seas continues to be actively built!14.06.2020 16:36
Odyssey of the Seas, the new ship of the American holding Royal Caribbean International, continues to be successfully built at the German shipyard Meyer Werft. Recently, the shipbuilder shared fresh photos of the construction progress.
One of the photos also shows a Meyer Werft employee wearing a protective mask, demonstrating that the shipyard adheres to all protective procedures to combat COVID-19.
Due to the global quarantine, the date of commissioning is likely to be shifted, but earlier Royal Caribbean reported that from November 2020 the home port of the Odyssey of the Seas will become Port Everglades, from where the liner will cruise to 6 and 8 nights in the Caribbean. The ship will spend the summer of 2021 in the Mediterranean Sea.
The Odyssey of the Seas is the twin brother of the Spectrum of the Seas, which was launched in 2019 and has continued the successful Quantum-Ultra lineup by joining the Quantum, Anthem and Ovation of the Seas liners.
According to Royal Caribbean, Odyssey of the Seas will be the first Quantum-Ultra class liner to enter Aruba and Curacao. Besides them, the liner plans to visit Cozumel, Grand Cayman and the private island of CocoCay.
