Virgin Voyages has launched its second cruise ship!25.06.2020 10:15
Florida-based American cruise company Virgin Voyages has launched its second cruise ship, the Valiant Lady.
The liner will be able to accommodate 2,750 passengers, and its operation should begin in May 2021. The Valiant Lady will be based in Barcelona and will operate weekly cruises in the Western Mediterranean, including an overnight stop on the island of Ibiza. Among the ports mentioned, the liner will also visit Monte Carlo, Olbia, Cagliari and Gibraltar.
Liner Valiant Lady is the twin brother of Scarlet Lady, which is due to debut in February 2020 in Dover, but has not officially launched yet due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Scarlet Lady's inauguration ceremony was supposed to be held in Miami in March, from where the ship will begin its navigation, offering a series of short Caribbean cruises and calling into the Bimini Islands. But as the coronavirus pandemic swept across Europe and North America, Virgin had to postpone its plans until mid-July and the original cruise was pushed back to August 7.
However, as the situation worsened, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) imposed a 100-day cruise navigation ban, and Virgin again had to postpone the launch date to October 16, and the inauguration ceremony to March 2021 of the year.
For all of its injured passengers, whom they call “sailors,” the cruise line has prepared some lavish gifts. Among them, a voucher for a future cruise in the amount of 200% of the paid funds. This amount is a record in the cruise industry, as other companies offer vouchers for 100, up to 125%.
