Maldives is reopening for cruises!30.06.2020 15:53
The Maldives government will allow cruise ships to re-enter ports as early as August and as confirmation has issued a comprehensive 28-page Maldives Tourism Resumption Guide.
Cruise ships and yachts arriving in the Maldives are exempt from the new general principles of tourism and must comply with the rules and guidelines of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
Cruise ships and yachts are not permitted to embark or disembark passengers on or off inhabited islands while cruising before August 1, 2020.
However, the embarkation and disembarkation of passengers and crew members at international airports (with valid air tickets at the time of disembarkation) will be permitted.
Neil Shorthouse, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Shorthouse Hospitality International, provided guidance and advice on the document, focusing on how safe the cruise tourism sector is.
All this shows that the market is gradually recovering and soon we will be able to return to our usual life and travel!
