Le Jacques Cartier delivered to Ponant!16.07.2020 11:40
The Ponant cruise line has welcomed the sixth and final Explorer class vessel: Le Jacques Cartier, which was delivered to Norway from VARD last week.
On July 10, Ponant took delivery of Le Jacques Cartier, successfully completing a series of new generation vessels in just two years.
“The delivery of Le Jacques Cartier was successful. This marks the end of the Explorer class, which revolutionized the concept of sea travel. These six vessels, combining cutting edge technology and environmental care, are a symbol of the next generation of French flag cruises, ”said Jean Emmanuelle Sauvet, CEO of Ponant.
Le Jacques Cartier offers 92 rooms and suites with balconies or private terraces, elegant exterior lines and sophisticated design. The ship combines the latest technology and innovation, and also cares about the environment. Le Jacques Cartier uses Ponant's Blue Eye concept. This multi-sensory underwater lounge allows guests to discover and explore the underwater world through two giant windows that resemble the eyes of a whale looking at the seabed.
Also on board Le Jacques Cartier is a hidden work of art from Shuck One, a famous French graffiti artist. During the construction of the ship, the artist made an allegorical diptych on the raw steel of the ship, showing the oceans and nature. The piece was covered after the completion of the ship's construction and is now viewable only through the porthole.
