Since July 13, 2020, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has made changes to the Air Code of Ukraine regarding the improvement of the mechanism for regulating state fees for each passenger who leaves the airport of Ukraine, and for each ton of cargo that leaves or arrives at the airport of Ukraine.

 

According to these changes, the state introduces an aviation tax for each passenger and ton of cargo.

 

From now on, the rate of the state duty for each passenger departing from the airport of Ukraine is set in the following amounts:

 

1) when carrying out air transportation within Ukraine - 0.5 US dollars;

 

2) in case of international air transportation from Ukraine - 2 US dollars.

 

The rate of state duty for each ton of cargo that is sent or arrives at the airport of Ukraine is set in the following amounts:

 

1) when carrying out air transportation within Ukraine - 2.5 US dollars;

 

2) in case of international air transportation from / to Ukraine - 10 US dollars.

 

The fee will not be charged for:

 

1) transportation of high-ranking officials and official delegations of states;

 

2) transportation of humanitarian aid from / to Ukraine in accordance with the acts of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine;

 

3) flights related to the provision of work to eliminate the consequences of a natural disaster, aviation and other events, sanitary flights (including transportation of the body (remains, ashes) of the deceased)

 

4) transportation of passengers belonging to the category of persons who are exempted from paying fees by law;

 

5) transportation of children under two years old;

 

6) transportation of transit passengers.
