From 1.09.2020 a PCR test is required to visit Egypt21.08.2020 12:10
From September 1, passengers of all nationalities, including Egyptians, must provide a negative PCR test certificate for COVID-19, which was issued no more than 72 hours before arrival at any of the Egyptian airports.
According to Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbuli, the country's authorities were forced to take such measures due to the increase in infections in some countries.
"We are interested in ensuring the health of those arriving in the country and Egyptians, so we agreed that any traveler arriving in the country must be tested," Ahram Online quoted Madbuli as saying.
According to the decision of the Government of Egypt, from August 15 this year, all foreign citizens arriving in Egypt are required to have a certificate with a negative PCR test, made no later than 72 hours before arriving in Egypt.
This requirement does not apply to tourists arriving directly at the airports of the Red Sea Governorates (Hurghada and Marsa Allam), South Sinai (Sharm El Sheikh) and Marsa Matruh. Until August 31, 2020 inclusive, tourists are free to travel within these governorates, but cannot travel to other parts of Egypt without the above-mentioned certificate.
Given today's realities, we believe that such measures in this or that country are not a reason for panic and change your travel plans. Such rules are introduced for the safety and preservation of our health with you! Let's think positively and look at things from a different point of view: leaving for another country with a negative test, we insure ourselves and those around us from unpleasant consequences and can be sure of our own safety!
