MSC Seashore launched at Fincantieri shipyard26.08.2020 13:38
Last week the new MSC Seashore was launched at Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy.
The MSC Seashore, which will be MSC Cruises' longest, largest and most innovative vessel, has now been moved to wet dock to carry out interior work prior to delivery in July 2021.
Description of the liner and cruise routes on the MSC Seashore
The ship belongs to the Seaside Evo class and, unlike MSC Seaside and MSC Seaview, is the first in class with newly designed public spaces, more cabins and the highest open space per guest ratio of any vessel in the company's fleet.
The cruise company said that in order to improve the MSC Seashore compared to its other twin liners, more than 65% of the ship had to be upgraded.
Giuseppe Bono, General Manager of Fincantieri, commented: “Launching has always been one of the most enjoyable moments for those involved in building the ship. It is also an opportunity to further strengthen everyone's commitment, because when a ship touches the sea it means that a lot of work has already been done, as well as that there is still a lot to be done. This is even more true for MSC Seashore, which will become the new flagship of MSC Cruises: a record-breaking vessel focused on innovation, technology and design, underlining Fincantieri's leadership.
The uncertainty we face around the world adds even more importance to this day, which bodes well not only for MSC Cruises and our company, but for the entire cruise industry. "
Pier Francesco Vago, CEO of MSC Cruises, added: “We are committed to our new shipbuilding program, where we innovate and set new standards in the industry with each new class of ships. MSC Seashore will be the largest and most innovative cruise ship ever built in Italy using the latest and most advanced environmental technology currently available. It will also be one of two new ships we will receive delivery in 2021, confirming our belief in the sector's long-term growth prospects, as evidenced by the return to service of one of our ships earlier, as well as the investment made in our new protection protocol health and safety, which is already setting a new standard for the industry. "
In the summer of 2021, all three Seaside-class ships will cruise the Western Mediterranean together.
MSC Seashore will offer the popular Six Pearls itinerary with visits to Italian cities: Genoa, Pompeii - Naples, Messina, Sicily; also Valletta, Malta; Barcelona, Spain and Marseille, France.
