Valencia plans to build a new cruise terminal!30.09.2020 13:55
When planning a new cruise terminal, Valencia Port Authority described their project as sustainable, safe and affordable, while offering proximity to the city and attractions.
According to Mar Chao, director of commercial and business development, the project will be the focus of the port's cruise operations.
According to the prepared statement, the port is engaged in an industry-wide commitment to develop and implement advanced technologies and methods to achieve lower emissions, greater efficiency, a cleaner environment and greater environmental sustainability.
“The new terminal is in line with the Port Authority's strategic goal of sustainability and respect for the environment, a commitment that the entire cruise sector has made,” commented Chao.
It is planned that the new terminal will be built on the territory previously owned by a shipyard, with an area of about 100,000 square meters, and will be designed to serve cruise and ferry services.
The specifics of the construction provide that each berth must be equipped with an onshore energy source, and all roofs must be designed for the installation of solar panels.
However, the spokesman said that the final budget has not yet been determined, as well as the completion date.
