Mardi Gras, a new mega-liner from Carnival Cruises, which is in the final stages of outfitting, has completed a 10-day cruise and returned to Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland.
An important aspect in sea trials is to check the performance of all engines before transferring the vessel to a cruise company.
Meyer Turku has released a new video of Mardi Gras leaving the shipyard for testing on the high seas.
The first cruise on the Mardi Gras, featuring a roller coaster ride in the sea and six thematic zones, will take place on February 6, 2021 from Port Canaveral, Florida, USA. This is the first cruise line ship to run on liquefied gas.
The next step will be the transfer of the liner to the cruise company Carnival Cruises. It will also be announced in the near future who will be the godmother of the new liner.
The tonnage of Mardi Gras is 180,000 tons, the passenger capacity is 5,282 people with double occupancy and 1,735 crew members.
