The American cruise company Disney Cruise Line announced that due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the debut of the new flagship Disney Wish had to be postponed slightly. The ship will enter service in the summer of 2022.

 

“It was originally planned that the Disney Wish ship would sail on its first cruise in early 2022, but due to delays related to the pandemic at the Meyer-Werft shipyard in Germany, plans have changed,” the company said.

 

As previously announced, Disney Wish will run on liquefied natural gas (LNG), one of the cleanest fuels on the market. With a displacement of 144,000 tons and 1,250 guest cabins, the ship will be slightly larger than Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy. Disney Wish's itinerary program will include cruises to the Eastern and Western Caribbean, starting at Canaveral, Orlando, FL.
