Successful resumption of cruises on the liner MSC Magnifica!22.10.2020 10:26
The liner MSC Magnifica, for the first time in a long time, went on a cruise from the port of Genoa in Italy, becoming the second ship of the company to resume sailing since the beginning of the pandemic.
MSC Magnifica will operate 10-day Western and Eastern Mediterranean cruises, calling at the port of Livorno to visit Florence and Pisa, Messina in Sicily, Piraeus (Athens), Katakolon (Olympia), Valletta (Malta) and Civitavecchia (Rome).
The liner resumed its cruises two months after MSC Grandiosa departed from the same port, on a strictly Italian route. The MSC Grandiosa was the first major cruise ship to return to service.
MSC Cruises' Health and Safety Protocol provides for a “total health examination” of all guests and crew, which includes COVID-19 testing, enhanced sanitation and cleaning measures throughout the ship, social distancing, wearing a face mask in public, and using technology. for tracking on board.
During this initial phase, MSC Magnifica's throughput was also reduced to 70% to ensure social distancing on board.
Guests on board the MSC Magnifica can enjoy shore excursions organized by the cruise line. During these excursions ashore, the same safety and health standards will be applied as on board to protect not only guests and crew, but also the population in ports of call.
At the moment the MSC Magnifica and MSC Grandiosa routes are available for booking only for residents of the Schengen area.
