Authorities on the Mexican island of Cozumel have asked European cruise lines to start cruises, as Mexico is waiting for cruise tourists.

The Mayor of Cozumel turned to MSC Cruises and offered any conditions so long as the cruises began. Routes were proposed without American ports, with calls to Cuba. Also, it was suggested to start cruises from the Mexican port of Progreso / Yucatan.

"If the cruises cannot leave the United States, then the Caribbean routes from Cozumel are possible. We know that in this case the logistics of supply is much more complicated, because we have an island, but it is still possible." - announced the mayor of Cozumel Joaquin Delbouis.
