Robot is the bartender aboard MSC Cruises!12.02.2021 10:59
Meet Rob, the first robot bartender from MSC to the sea!

Italian company MSC Cruises has revealed details of its futuristic MSC Starship Club featuring Rob, the world's first humanoid bartender robot at sea. According to a press release, the MSC Starship Club will be exclusively available aboard MSC's newest flagship Virtuosa, which is scheduled to launch on April 16, 2021.

“This integrated bar and entertainment center includes 3D holograms, an immersive digital art wall and a 12-seat interactive table, giving guests the opportunity to explore space on their own personalized galactic tour,” the cruise line said. "Rob's skills and emotional responsiveness, combined with the bartender's appearance, will make him feel like he has just stepped out of a sci-fi movie, and the immersive environment and technology will make MSC Starship Club a must-see attraction for all ages."

According to MSC, Rob will mix and serve his signature cocktails (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and various popular drinks. Making cocktails isn't Rob's only talent. He can speak eight languages - English, Italian, Spanish, French, German, Brazilian, Portuguese, Chinese and Japanese. In addition, he has a distinct personality and uses his LED face to convey emotion. Space cocktails will be served in specially designed futuristic glasses that guests can keep as a souvenir.

According to the MSC, it took six years to create the Starship Club.

After completing several three-, four- and five-day Mediterranean cruises, MSC Virtuosa will travel to Northern Europe in the summer of 2021 for fabulous routes through the Norwegian Fjords and Northern Baltic capitals.
