Odyssey of The Seas is out of the shipyard!01.03.2021 11:14
The newest airliner of the Quantum-Ultra class has left the Meyer Werft shipyard. The vessel departed from Papenburg, Germany along the Ems River to go to sea and undergo further tests.

Let us remind you that the Quantum-Ultra class liners are the most innovative among the entire fleet of Royal Caribbean International.

It is planned that the Odyssey of The Seas will cruise the Mediterranean Sea, calling at the following ports:

• Civitavecchia / Rome, Italy
• Santorini, Greece
• Mykonos, Greece
• Piraeus / Athens, Greece
• Naples / Pompeii, Italy
• Kusadasi, Turkey
• Piraeus / Athens, Greece
• Haifa, Israel
• Ashdod, Israel
• Rhodes, Greece
• Heraklion / Crete, Greece

All routes, description and deck plan of the liner Odyssey of The Seas

The construction of the liner began back in February 2019. It was originally planned that the ship will begin cruises in the fall of 2020, but events related to COVID-19 have made strong adjustments to the construction of the liner. At the moment, the cruise company Royal Caribbean International has suspended all its cruises until 05/01/2021.

When will cruise lines around the world resume their navigation?

Odyssey of The Seas became the second Quantum-Ultra class liner and was to become the 27th liner in the Royal Caribbean International fleet. Since the cruise line sold two of its old liners, the Empress of the Seas (1990) and the Majesty of the Seas (1992), the RCCI fleet has 25 ships with the launch of the Odyssey of The Seas.

As we can see, despite the stoppage of cruises, the companies continue to build new liners and sell the old ones. Of course, this will only have a positive effect for tourists, and in the future for the cruise company.
