The state of Florida defeated the CDC (US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) in court. What does it mean?
Since October 2020, the CDC has limited cruises from the United States, which, frankly, exceeded its authority. While other similar businesses are working - cruises are prohibited!
For several months now, cruise lines and representatives of the "cruise states" have been in litigation with the CDC. As a consequence, a compromise decision was made to resume cruises for tourists who had made vaccines. We wrote about this in several important cruise news:
Alaska cruises in July!
Biden signed the cruise law!
Carnival Cruise Line has received permission to cruise from Florida!
Resumption of cruises by Norwegian Cruise Line Holding!
MSC Cruises starts cruises from the USA!
But Florida Governor Ron DeSantis did not stop there and filed a lawsuit from the state for the complete removal of CDC restrictions.
The Governor has repeatedly stated that such restrictions are a direct violation of the rights of individuals and residents of the United States. The coronavirus wreaked havoc on the entire economy of the state, especially those industries and workers who were associated with the cruise industry. Thousands of residents of the state were left without jobs, and many businesses that worked with cruise lines and served cruise ships went bankrupt.
All the efforts of the state of Florida were not in vain! Now cruises will be available not only for vaccinated tourists!
Recall that the United States during the entire pandemic was open to citizens of Ukraine and most other countries.
At the moment, a US visa and a PCR test are enough to visit the country, which is done no earlier than 72 hours before arriving in the United States.
