The new flagship of MSC Cruises!27.07.2021 12:19
On 26/07/2021, the new and largest liner ever built in Italy at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone was officially handed over to the MSC Cruises fleet!

And of course this liner was MSC Seashore!

The Fincantieri shipyard is also building the second liner of this class - MSC Seascape. Its commissioning is planned for the winter of 2022.

The MSC Seashore handover ceremony was attended by: MSC Cruises Executive Chairman Pierfrancesco Vago, other members of the Aponte and Aponte Vago families, Giampiero Massolo and Giuseppe Bono, Fincantieri Chairman and CEO, as well as representatives of the new MSC team, as well as the shipyard managers and workers ...

During a ceremony celebrating centuries of maritime tradition, Roberto Olivari, director of the Fincantieri shipyard, presented Giuseppe Galano, captain of the MSC Seashore, with an ampoule of water that first touched the hull when the ship was launched earlier this year.

During his speech, Pierfrancesco Vago said “Our new flagship is another testament to our leadership in sustainable development, as each new vessel is equipped with the latest and most advanced environmental technologies and solutions. In addition, in addition to our industry-leading health and safety protocol, MSC Seashore is the first cruise ship in the world to feature a revolutionary new air purification system. Safe Air uses UV-C lamp technology to eliminate 99 percent of viruses and bacteria to ensure clean and safe air for all guests and crew on board. "

Now everything has been done and even more has been done to make cruises the safest type of vacation, even taking into account the coronavirus realities.

It is also worth noting the many innovative solutions that are aimed at an even greater level of comfort and service.

Seashore demonstrates MSC's commitment to "continuous innovation in terms of customer service," Wago said.

“This is without a doubt our most amazing and sophisticated boat to date, taking the already successful Seaside platform to a whole new level with a completely reimagined public space, a new secondary lounge and a broader offering in both restaurants and retail. among many other new and greatly improved features. This will create a unique onboard experience for our guests this summer in the Mediterranean and the winter season when she moves to Miami to fully introduce our brand values to North American consumers, ”said Vago.
MSC has a long-term goal of completely eliminating CO2 emissions by 2050. Each new vessel represents "another step towards this goal, along with other investments that will help accelerate the development of next generation green technologies."

MSC Seashore, in particular, is equipped with hybrid exhaust aftertreatment systems, selective catalytic reduction systems that reduce sulfur oxides emissions by 98 percent and nitrogen oxides emissions by 90 percent.

According to MSC, the seaside wastewater treatment system has been designed in accordance with International Maritime Organization resolution MEPC 227 (64) and provides treatment standards that are higher than most onshore wastewater treatment plants.

According to the press release, MSC Seashore has received two additional class designations from the RINA classification society:

The first is a sign of the ship's sustainable development for its advanced environmental technologies.
The second is the designation Biosafe Ship for Infection Risk Reduction, also awarded by MSC Grandiosa.

The MSC Seashore - the first vessel in the Seaside EVO class - offers a range of new features, spaces and entertainment for guests as 65 percent of public spaces have been reimagined.

The ship offers 13,000 m² of outdoor space with a wide selection of outdoor bars and restaurants, swimming pools, and various vantage points around the ship that offer sea views.

MSC Seashore will begin its first season in the Mediterranean, offering the Six Pearls itinerary, calling at the Italian ports of Genoa, Naples, and a visit to Pompeii and Messina in Sicily; Valletta, Malta; Barcelona, Spain and Marseille, France.

Cruises on MSC Seashore

On October 31, the ship will leave Genoa on an epic 18-day cruise as the ship moves to North America. From November 20, the liner will offer seven-day cruises in the Caribbean with calls to San Juan in Puerto Rico, Charlotte Amalie in St. Thomas, Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic and then to the Ocean Cay Marine Reserve MSC in the Bahamas - MSC Cruises private island ...
