Two new liners at once!19.11.2021 15:47
Cruise lines are not slowing down and continue to build new and more innovative cruise ships.

Everything happens so quickly that almost overnight there was information about the construction of new liners from two cruise companies of the Premium and Standard class at once.

Celebrity Ascent 5 * - will become the fourth EDGE class liner and the 17th liner in the fleet of the PREMIUM cruise company - Celebrity Cruises.

As a reminder, EDGE is a completely new class of cruise ships with many unique elements in every detail! The first Celebrity Edge 5 * liner was launched in 2018 and immediately won the hearts of most tourists who prefer a premium vacation.
On November 17, 2021, a steel cutting ceremony was held at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire. This marked the beginning of construction on Celebrity Cruises' newest liner.

Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, President and CEO of Celebrity Cruises, said in her speech:

“What another great moment for our brand, our company and our industry to be at this incredible shipyard, which makes the traditional first cut of steel on this magnificent ship and heralds the bright future ahead. I wish I could share what we have for this ship, I can tell you that our Ascension will be the sister ship of Celebrity Beyond in every way, and sometimes in some ways. "

Another STANDARD cruise company - MSC Cruises (MSC Crociere) was pleased with the news of the completion of the construction of the new Seaside EVO liner.

11/17/2021 MSC Cruises celebrated the launch of the new MSC Seascape cruise ship at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. It is a traditional event when the shipowner and the shipbuilder of a new ship get together to watch the launch of the liner.

MSC Seascape will be delivered to the cruise line in November 2022. It is the second vessel in the Seaside EVO class, and the fourth vessel in the lineup in the highly innovative Seaside class, the company said in a press release.
Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman of MSC Cruises, said:

“The launch of the MSC Seascape marks another major milestone in the growth of our fleet and the vessel will pay tribute to the oceans with yet another array of highly innovative maritime and design solutions.

“We continue to pursue our ambitious new building plans despite the pandemic, and today we are celebrating a double celebration for MSC as our next flagship, MSC Seascape, is launched at the same time that its sister ship MSC Seashore is officially named in our own private sector. island, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve.

"MSC Seascape - together with MSC Seashore - offers some of the latest environmental technologies and solutions to minimize its environmental impact, which will help us take one step further towards realizing our ambition to achieve zero net greenhouse gas emissions by 2050."

Giuseppe Bono, CEO of Fincantieri, added: “Such an impressive vessel makes you wonder about the tremendous work that went into its construction. We started work on MSC Seascape almost at the same time as the outbreak of the emergency, and today, together with a reputable operator like MSC, we are celebrating its release as planned before the pandemic. A strong determination to meet our manufacturing commitments and maintain our entire backlog has become a hallmark of our Group, a true cornerstone of the company's culture, and there can be no better precondition for looking into the future with renewed confidence. ”
