The Norwegian Cruise Line's 188,000 square feet (17,465 m²) cruise terminal has been designed with the latest environmental and building innovations in mind.
The team has created a platform that optimizes the terminal's energy efficiency, indoor air quality, water efficiency, use of local materials and resources, and more. Taking into account the high level of energy efficiency, the project was designed to be at least 38 percent more efficient than the average building. In addition to significant permits and water quality protections, the terminal includes protection against manatees and protection against the discharge of pollutants, and shore power is planned to be provided by autumn 2023.
