On December 5, 2018, Holland America Line's new Nieuw Statendam embarked on its first cruise. TV presenter Oprah Winfrey became the godmother of the liner.

 

The two-week sailing began in the port of Civitavecchia (Italy) and will end in Florida in the port of Fort Lauderdale, where he will spend the winter season cruising the Caribbean islands.

 

But in the summer of 2019, he will return to Europe.
