Norwegian Cruise Line introduces restrictions for citizens of certain countries!07.05.2022 13:21
Most of the world's cruise lines operate under US and international regulations. Based on this, any new laws and restrictions are implemented as soon as possible.
The U.S. Department of the Treasury, through the Office of Foreign Assets Control (“OFAC”), has imposed a number of comprehensive sanctions against citizens of certain countries and regions, in particular:
Crimea
North Korea (Democratic People's Republic of Korea)
Cuba
Sudan
Syria
Iran
Russia
Belarus
These sanctions limit the ability of cruise lines to do business with these countries and their citizens. This includes allowing certain nationals of these countries to cruise aboard the ships.
Accordingly, if you are a citizen or resident of one of these sanctioned countries, you will not be able to book and/or travel on Norwegian Cruise Line.
The exception is tourists who fulfill the following requirements:
Tourists who provide proof of another citizenship (of a country that is not under sanctions);
OR
Tourists who confirm their residence and status in a country that is not under sanctions:
- residence permit or other proof of residence;
- confirmation of payment through the bank of the country in which you live;
- other documents (optional).
IMPORTANT: tourists from sanctioned countries who do not comply with the above requirements will be denied boarding!
