MSC Cruises builds $8.2 billion worth of new ships!05.04.2023 01:32
Currently, MSC Group has ordered a total of ten cruise ships for its two brands. The total cost of the projects is $8.2 billion and includes six mid-sized luxury ships for Explora Journeys, as well as four large modern ships for MSC Cruises.
 
The average cost of new ships is $820 million. By 2028, the company's fleet will increase by 26,620 seats.
 
The MSC Euribia, which is being built at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in France, is the first liner.
 
The 177,100 tonne Meraviglia class vessel owned by MSC Cruises will be the company's second LNG-powered vessel. The first cruises will be carried out as early as JUNE 2023.

Following the MSC World Europa, which entered service in 2022, the new 205,700 dwt ships will also be built at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard.
 
MSC World America is the next in a series of mega-liners with a capacity of 5,400 people. His debut is scheduled in the United States.
 
Meanwhile, Explora Journeys is building a series of medium-sized cruise ships at Fincantieri.
 
With a displacement of 64,000 tons, purpose-built for luxury cruising, the ships have been designed to offer more space and amenities to their guests. Their capacity will be up to 922 guests.
 
Explora I will debut in July 2024. It will become the first liner of the new project, according to which 5 more liners will be built.
 
The 70,000 tonne Explora III, Explora IV, Explora V and Explora VI will be slightly larger than the first two Explora ships and will be powered by new LNG engines.
