The new liner Utopia of the Seas has launched!20.09.2023 19:37
Royal Caribbean International's new ship Utopia of the Seas is one step closer to its July 2024 debut. The ship's first cruises will depart from Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida.
Each sailing will include visits to Nassau, the Bahamas and Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean's award-winning private island, which will feature its first slice of adults-only paradise, Hideaway Beach, as of January 2024.
The ship launched for the first time last weekend, marking a major milestone and the next phase of construction for the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.

A key milestone in the construction of the new Utopia of the Seas, known as "launching," took 17 months, according to the statement. The process itself took nearly 15 hours, starting with filling the dry with more than 46 million gallons of water overnight.
Since construction began in April 2022, the new ship has taken the form of more than 74 steel blocks that have been lifted and assembled into place.
We've already seen some of its innovations, from the longest dry slide at sea—the 295-foot-long Ultimate Abyss—to the first-of-its-kind immersive on-board dining experience.
There are more than 40 ways to dine and drink, more pools than you can count, thrills, the best ways to relax and more.
Friends and families celebrating any occasion can create unforgettable weekends and memories with a combination of new signature adventures and reimagined experiences.
These include newly designed resort-style pools, a new Caribbean tiki bar, a renovated Izumi restaurant now located in Central Park with a new convenient pick-up window for fresh sushi and Japanese street food, and al fresco dining, as well as stunning nightlife and entertainment.
Once launched, Utopia of the Seas will be moved to a finishing dock where the ship will be completed by the summer of 2024 and will become the first OASIS class ship to run on LNG (liquefied natural gas).
The vessel will combine LNG technology with the brand's range of already proven green initiatives and features, from waste heat recovery systems to shore power connections.
