Celebrity Xcel is the name of the new flagship of Celebrity Cruises!08.11.2023 19:56

Celebrity Cruises has announced that the fifth ship in its Edge series will be called Celebrity Xcel and will debut in 2025. The company previously announced that the ship would be ready to use methanol as fuel.

The announcement was made at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, as Royal Caribbean Group and shipyard executives celebrated a steel cutting ceremony.

“The Edge Series has shattered preconceived notions about cruising, and I’m thrilled to announce our next bold step as a brand with Celebrity Xcel,” said Celebrity Cruises President Laura Hodges Bethge. “True to its heritage, the next ship will be named 'Xcel' beyond its sister ships with entirely new experiences yet to be revealed to our guests that will change the game once again.”

Celebrity Xcel will debut in November 2025 in the Caribbean, sailing its first winter season from Fort Lauderdale on seven-night itineraries rotating between the Bahamas, Mexico and the Cayman Islands, as well as Puerto Plata, St. Thomas, St. Louis and St. Martin.

Cruises are now open for sale.
