A total of 14 new cruise ships are due to enter service in 2024. According to Cruise Industry News' Global Cruise Ship Orderbook report, the lineup includes a diverse selection of ships, including megaliners, premium and luxury ships, and many more...
 
Here is a list of new airliners entering service before the end of the year:
 
Icon of the Seas
Royal Caribbean International
Capacity: 5,610 guests
Tonnage: 250,800
Shipyard: Meyer Turku (Finland)
First cruise: January 27, 2024
 
At the end of 2023, the new Icon of the Seas is scheduled to begin navigation on January 27, 2024. The 250,800-ton ship, which will spend its first season in the Caribbean, will take the title of the world's largest ship from its fleetmate Wonder of the Seas.
 
Sun Princess
Princess Cruises
Capacity: 4,300 guests
Tonnage: 175,000
Shipyard: Fincantieri (Italy)

Ushering in a new era for Princess Cruises, the new Sun Princess is due to begin cruising in the Mediterranean in early February. The first in a new series of LNG-powered ships, the 4,300-guest ship will be the largest Princess ship ever and will also introduce several new features such as a family lounge and a multi-purpose geodesic dome.
 
Queen Anne

First cruise: May 3, 2024
 
The new Queen Anne will enter service with Cunard Line on May 3, 2024. This is the first ship to enter service for the British brand in more than ten years. The 3,000-guest ship plans to spend its first season offering itineraries to the Canary Islands, the Mediterranean, Northern Europe and more.
 
Silver Ray
Silversea Cruises

Tonnage: 54,700
Shipyard: Meyer Werft (Germany)
First cruise: June 15, 2024
 
A sister to Silver Nova, built in 2023, Silver Ray is due to enter service with Silversea Cruises in mid-2024. Regarded as one of the world's greenest cruise ships, the LNG-powered ship is set to spend its first season in the Mediterranean.
 
Mein Schiff 7
TUI Cruises
Capacity: 2900 guests
Tonnage: 110,000
Shipyard: Meyer Turku (Finland)
First cruise: June 23, 2024
 
Mein Schiff 7 is scheduled to enter service for TUI Cruises on June 23, 2024. The 2,900-guest ship, being built at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, will spend her first season in Northern Europe before moving to the Canary Islands for winter cruises.
 
 
Utopia of the Seas

First cruise: July 22, 2024
 
Royal Caribbean's Oasis-class ship Utopia of the Seas will welcome guests on its maiden cruise on July 22, 2024. In a first for the company, the new LNG-powered vessel will spend its inaugural season offering short cruises to the Bahamas, departing from Port Canaveral.
 
Brilliant Lady

After the ship's delivery was delayed to 2023, Brilliant Lady is now expected to enter service for Virgin Voyages in the second quarter of 2024. However, the company has not yet announced details about the new first season of the vessel.
 
Explora II

Shipyard: Fincantieri (Italy)
First cruise: August 11, 2024
 
Following Explora I, Explora II will be the second ultra-luxury ship of Explora Journey. Built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, the 922 Guest will begin her maiden season in the Mediterranean on August 11, 2024.

Continuing American Cruise Line's Coastal Cat series, American Liberty is scheduled to enter service on August 15, 2024. During its inaugural season, the US-built cruise ship is scheduled to sail a series of itineraries around New England and the Hudson River. The ship is a sister ship to American Glory, launched in 2023.
 
 
Ilma

Following Evrima, built in 2022, Ilma will be the second luxury vessel in the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. The cruise ship, in the final stages of construction at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in France, is scheduled to welcome its first guests on September 19, 2024.
 
 
American Legend
American Cruise Lines
Capacity: 109 guests
Tonnage: 4,100
Shipyard: Chesapeake (USA)
First cruise: November 25, 2024
 
In 2024, the second cruise ship of the American company, American Legend, will enter service. Under construction at the Chesapeake Shipyard in Maryland the 109-guest ship will spend its first season offering Gulf Coast and Keys cruises to American Cruise Line. The ship is a sister ship to American Glory, launched in 2023.
 
 
Viking Vela

Tonnage: 47,000
Shipyard: Fincantieri (Italy)
First cruise: December 12, 2024
 
Viking will introduce the new Viking Vela in December 2024. The luxury vessel, being built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, is set to spend her first season making winter cruises in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.
 
 
Disney Treasure
Disney Cruise Line
Capacity: 2500 guests
Tonnage: 140,000
Shipyard: Meyer Werft (Germany)
First cruise: December 21, 2024
 
The new Disney Tresure is scheduled to enter service on December 21, 2024. The 140,000-ton ship, a sister ship to the 2022-built Disney Wish, is offering a series of week-long cruises to the Caribbean and Bahamas in its first cruise season.
 
Janssonius
Oceanwide Expeditions
Capacity: 174 guests
Tonnage: 6,300
Shipyard: Brodosplit (Croatia)
First cruise: TBD
 
After her launch was delayed several times from 2021 due to problems at Brodosplit, Janssonius is expected to enter service for ocean expeditions sometime in 2024. Once delivered, the expedition vessel will undertake a series of research cruises in Antarctica and the Arctic. The ship is the sister of Hondius, launched in 2019.
