Important! Payment of the fee for visiting Venice for cruise passengers!23.04.2024 20:57
The Venice authorities have introduced a mandatory fee for visiting the city from 04/25/2024. The fee also applies to those tourists visiting the city on MSC Cruises. On the eve of the visit, tourists must independently pay a fee of 5 euros per adult (free for children under 14 years old) on the website (https://cda.ve.it/en/) using a foreign card and receive a QR code for each.

The fine for missing a code during a random check can range from 50 to 300 euros!

Consultation on any questions

If a tourist is exempt from paying the fee (for example, a child or a passenger arriving at the terminal only to board the ship), then a free QR code must still be issued.

For tourists who have purchased a shore excursion through MSC Cruises, the cruise company itself will process and pay these fees, but 5 euros will be billed to the tourist's onboard account in addition to payment.

The test period for levying the tax will last from April 25 to July 14, and a decision will be made later on whether to introduce the tax on a permanent basis.
