A total of 17 new cruise ships are scheduled to enter service in 2025. According to Cruise Industry News’ Global Cruise Ship Orderbook report, the lineup includes a diverse selection of ships, including mega-liners, premium and luxury vessels, and more...

Here’s a list of the new ships entering service before the end of the year:

Mein Schiff Relax

TUI Cruises

Capacity: 4,000

Tonnage: 161,000

Shipyard: Fincantieri (Italy)

Delivery date: March 16, 2025

Built at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, the LNG-powered vessel is the first in a new series of TUI ships. Following Mein Schiff 7, which entered service for TUI Cruises in early 2024, Mein Schiff Relax is scheduled to debut in the spring of 2025.

MSC World America

MSC Cruises

Capacity: 5,400

Tonnage: 205,700

Shipyard: Chantiers

Delivery date: April 12, 2025

The liquefied natural gas-powered vessel will be officially named in Miami on April 9, 2025. It represents a significant evolution of MSC Cruises’ World Class prototype.

Norwegian Aqua

Norwegian Cruise Line

Capacity: 3,571

Tonnage: 156,300

Shipyard: Fincantieri (Italy)

Delivery date: March 28, 2025

Norwegian Aqua is the third ship in the Prima class, but is larger than Prima and Viva. The ship will offer a seven-night transatlantic crossing to Boston before her maiden North American season.

Asuka III

Originally ordered in 2021, the new ship is scheduled to enter service ahead of the 2025 summer cruise season. The ship is specifically designed to serve the Japanese cruise market.

Star of the Seas

Royal Caribbean

Capacity: 5,610

Tonnage: 250,800

Shipyard: Meyer Turku

Delivery Date: August 31, 2025

As the second ship in Royal Caribbean’s Icon class, the LNG-powered vessel is scheduled to enter service in August 2025. The ship will offer a series of seven-night cruises departing from Port Canaveral, Florida.

Oceania Allura

Oceania Cruises

Capacity: 1,200

Tonnage: 67,000

Shipyard: Fincantieri

Delivery date: July 18, 2025

Allura will enter service from Trieste, Italy. After the summer season in the Mediterranean, Allura will head to Canada and New England for a series of North American voyages.

Viking Vesta

Viking Cruises

Capacity: 998

Tonnage: 54,300

Shipyard: Fincantieri (Italy)

Delivery date: July 2, 2025

Viking Vesta will offer a combination of Mediterranean and Northern European itineraries. These include the Greek Islands, the Adriatic Sea, the Italian Riviera and Iceland.

Luminara

Ritz-Carlton

Capacity: 456

Tonnage: 37,000

Shipyard: Chantiers

Delivery date: July 31, 2025

Luminara will join sister ships Ilma and Evrima, the company's first yacht to be launched since October 2022. The vessel will offer 10 new itineraries between December 2025 and May 2026.

Delivery date: October 4, 2025

Star Princess will be the second largest ship ever built in Italy and the second cruise ship on the LNG, which Fincantieri is building for Princess. It is also the second dual-fuel vessel, powered primarily by LNG, to join the Princess fleet.

Douglas Mawson

SunStone – chartered by Aurora Expeditions.

Tonnage: 8,000

Shipyard: CMIH

Delivery date: December 2, 2025

The new ship will debut in the South Pacific in late 2025, before arriving in Europe in late April for itineraries to the Mediterranean, British Isles and Western Europe.

Four Seasons I

Shipyard: Fincantieri (Italy)

Delivery date: January 25, 2026

Four Seasons I is the first vessel for Four Seasons Yachts, due for delivery in late 2025 and set sail in early 2026. The vessel is equipped with the latest environmental technologies.

Celebrity Xcel

Celebrity Cruises

Capacity: 3,260

Tonnage: 140,600

Shipyard: Chantiers

Delivery date: November 18, 2025

Xcel is the fifth ship in Celebrity’s Edge series, scheduled to enter service in the fall of 2025. Powered by the company’s first tri-fuel engine, the ship is scheduled to debut in late 2025. The ship’s inaugural season will feature seven-night itineraries departing from Fort Lauderdale.

Star Seeker

Windstar Cruises

Capacity: 224

Tonnage: 10,000

Shipyard: West Sea

Delivery date: December 28, 2025

Star Seeker is the first new Star Class ship for Windstar Cruises. The ship's maiden voyage will depart from Malaga, Spain, and will end in Miami on January 13, 2026, with a christening ceremony. Star Seeker is equipped with the latest technology to minimize its environmental impact.

Disney Adventure

Disney Cruise Line

Capacity: 6,000

Tonnage: 208,000

Shipyard: MV Werften

Delivery date: December 15, 2025

Disney Adventure to debut in Singapore in 2025 as Disney's first ship in its home port in Asia. The Asia-bound ship will debut a new design that will make it “both a journey and a destination.”

Disney Destiny

Disney Cruise Line

Capacity: 2,500

Tonnage: 140,000

Shipyard: Meyer

Delivery date: November 20, 2025

The LNG-powered vessel’s maiden season is set to begin from Port Everglades on a four-day voyage to the Bahamas. Disney Destiny will be the third in a series of ships that also includes Disney Wish, due in 2022, and Disney Treasure, due in 2024.

Patriot

American Cruise Line

Capacity: 125

Tonnage: 5,000

Shipyard: Chesapeake

Delivery Date: June 21, 2025

American Patriot will be the fifth ship in American’s Project Blue series of 12 new small ships for the U.S. market. She is scheduled to debut in June with a series of cruises in the New England region.

Pioneer

American Cruise Line

Capacity: 125

Tonnage: 5,000

Shipyard: Chesapeake

Delivery Date: November 1, 2025

American Pioneer will be the sixth ship in American’s Project Blue series. The ship will offer itineraries along the Florida coast and the Florida Keys. On her maiden voyage, she will sail from Jacksonville to St. Petersburg, offering a 14-night cruise.
