On April 9, 2025, a grand event in the world of sea cruises took place in Miami - the grand inauguration ceremony of MSC World America, the newest cruise ship of MSC Cruises. The event was held at the MSC Miami Cruise Terminal - the largest cruise terminal in the world.

The ceremony was attended by the owners of MSC Group - the Aponte family, as well as the company's partners from around the world, including representatives of the Four Gates Group - the official representative of MSC Cruises in Ukraine.

The godmother of the liner was the famous American actress Drew Barrymore, who performed a traditional maritime ritual: she cut the ribbon and broke a bottle of champagne against the side of the ship, wishing MSC World America happy sailing. She was supported by actor Orlando Bloom, the star of the MSC Cruises advertising campaign "Let's Holiday!".

After the ceremony, guests embarked on a two-day cruise to the private island of Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, where the MSC Foundation has opened a coral reef restoration center as part of the Super Coral Reefs Program.
