New cruise line Virgin Cruises26.03.2019 08:59
Virgin Cruises, a new cruise line founded by entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson, has signed an agreement of intent to build three "boutique liners" of 110,000 tonnes. The liners will be built at the largest Italian shipyard Fincantieri and should enter the routes in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
The liner design is still in its infancy as the company hopes to get public and travel agents' feedback on the features and innovations they would like to see on board the new liners. Each ship will have 1,430 cabins to accommodate more than 2,800 passengers and 1,150 crew members.

Contrary to modern trends to build large liners, Virgin Cruises intends to build smaller liners, boutique liners, so that guests on board feel more comfortable, be part of the liner and share their thoughts and wishes. The company wants to receive feedback from guests. This is a new, distinct concept in the cruise tourism market. Virgin Cruises is committed to introducing a new, freer style of business - the Virgin style.
Virgin Voyages' new cruise line promises to change cruise thinking forever. From dining and entertainment to spa treatments, every aspect of a journey with the company will take Virgin's unique style out to sea for 2,800 passengers and 1,150 crew.
The cruise line will partner with Climeon, a company that specializes in converting waste heat to energy, making Virgin Voyages more ocean-friendly. The new liner will be designed by leading design companies that have already collaborated with such well-known travel brands as Ace Hotels, The Standard High Line and Mondrian Hotels.
