There are two airports near Jakarta: Soekarno – Hatta International, where most flights arrive, and HalimPerdanakusuma International, which serves domestic flights and low-cost airline flights.

From Soekarno – Hatta International Airport, you can get to the port by taxi, which will take at least an hour as the roads are very busy. It is best to use an official taxi, you can order at a special counter at the airport or through the Grab or Go-Jek applications.

You can get from the airport to the port by public transport, but such a trip will take at least three hours and two or three changes, plus you will have to walk to the port itself.
Therefore, it will be more convenient, easier and safer to use an official taxi.
Istana Merdeka is located in the center of Jakarta and is a presidential palace close to Merdeka Square. Since it is the current residence of the incumbent president in Indonesia, it is not open to the public. The residence is one of the most historically and politically significant buildings in the country, and it was here that the historic flag-changing ceremony took place when the Dutch colonial period ended and Indonesia declared independence.

The Monas Tower is the most famous monument in Jakarta and is a symbol of the independence of Indonesia, which was declared in 1945 after many years of Dutch colonial rule. The monument is located in Merdeka Square, which means "freedom" in Indonesian, and there is also a gallery where you can learn more about the turbulent history of Indonesia.

The Istiqlal Mosque claims to be the largest mosque in Southeast Asia and can simultaneously accommodate 120,000 worshipers. The mosque is located near the Monas National Monument. Non-Muslims may attend mosque outside of prayer times, provided they dress modestly.

Kota Tua is also called the "Old City of Batavia" and is one of the most historically significant parts of Jakarta. Here you can see beautiful architecture dating back to the Dutch colonial period, as well as visit the cobbled central town square that characterizes the area. There are also many museums here.

Here you can learn everything about the history, art, culture, geography and ethnology of this country in the National Museum. The museum is divided into various galleries that include collections such as early Indonesian ceramics and Hindu art over the centuries. The museum has been operating since 1868, so it is a historical gem in itself.
