The port is located 4 km from the center of Khasab. A free shuttle will deliver passengers to the city in a few minutes. Near the port, there are taxis that will deliver anywhere in the city.
The best way to get to the port is by taxi.
The most popular excursion is a boat trip along the coast to the fjords. During it, you can watch whales and dolphins, see large colonies of birds that live in coastal rocks and on small islands, swim. A four-hour excursion on such a boat costs approximately $ 25 per person (drinks (tea, coffee, soft drinks and water) and fruits are included in the price).
The famous landmark of the city is the Portuguese fort, built in the 17th century, which actually started the city. It houses the Ethnographic Museum, one of the best in Oman. City mosques are also noteworthy.
Lovers of shopping and souvenirs can be advised by the Lulu hypermarket, a 15-minute walk from the pier.
Beach lovers will also find something to do while parking. Due to the rugged coastline, the beaches in Al Khasab are small. There are both sandy and pebble beaches. They hide in cozy coves and are ideal for those looking for more or less relaxation in privacy. The nearest beach with a good entrance is on the right pier, just 15 minutes away.
El-Khasab also attracts many diving enthusiasts: due to the fact that it is here that the Persian Gulf "meets" Oman, the underwater world off the coast is very diverse. There are many diving spots here, many of which are suitable for beginners. More experienced divers can visit the underwater caves, of which there are many, or make drift dives - in some places the current is quite strong.
