Lavrion is a small Greek town located in the southeastern part of Attica. The city became famous in ancient times due to the abundance of silver mines. Typically, the silver that was mined was used to make coins.
 

Today Lavrion is a small port city with a minimum number of attractions:
 

Mineralogical Museum - which contains varieties of Greek minerals: smithsonite, adamite, azurite, aroganite, annabergite and others.
 

Archaeological Museum - presents the originals of marble fragments, dishes and other utensils. The museum itself is quite compact and neat.
