The best way to get from the airport is by taxi or transfer from the cruise line. The taxi ride will last approximately 30 minutes.

Galia Museum of Contemporary Art is a place for those who want to get acquainted with the art of Oman, combining modern trends and ancient traditions. The Museum is located next to Fort on the Matrah Corniche.
The Al-Baranda Museum is dedicated to the history of Oman since the first century AD. The exhibition covers the theme of Islam in Oman, the period of the Portuguese occupation, the history of the port, local folklore and traditions.
The Sultan Qaboos Mosque in Muscat (18 km from the port) is a masterpiece of modern Islamic architecture. The main minaret of the mosque rises up to 90 m, and its interior is decorated with ceramic flower patterns. The dome is covered with gilded mosaics. In the main hall you can see 35 chandeliers, the largest of which has a diameter of 14 meters. Another attraction of the mosque is a huge carpet weighing more than 20 tons, which stretched over several months. The mosque is open to the public only until 11:00.
The Royal Opera House (11 km from the port) is the most important cultural and musical "temple" of Oman. At one time, Andrea Bocelli, Placido Domingo, the Mariinsky Theater Company and the London Philharmonic Orchestra performed here.
Al-Alam Palace (6 km from the port). This is the residence of the Sultan, the entrance to it is closed. But you can look at Al-Alam from the outside and take a photo for memory.
Fort Al-Jalali (6.5 km from the port), was built in the 16th century by Portuguese colonists. Inside the Fort is the Museum of Cultural History with a collection of cannons, ancient maps and many other artifacts.
