This program is an excellent opportunity to combine climbing Mount Kilimanjaro with an introduction to the wildlife of Tanzania. Kilimanjaro is the highest peak in Africa (5895 m), located in Tanzania, on the border with Kenya.

 

In total, there are 6 developed and approved routes for climbing Kilimanjaro: Machame, Marangu, Umbwe, Rongai, Lemosho, Shira. We suggest you climb Kilimanjaro along the Machame route. In our opinion, this is the best track. It is considered the most interesting and beautiful, but it requires good physical fitness. During this route, you can see the rainforest, observe a variety of birds and black and white colobus monkeys. Acclimatization to the heights on this route is easy, and you have every chance to conquer the top of Kilimanjaro. During the ascent, overnight stays in tent camps are provided.

 

Tour program.

 

1 day.

Departure from Boryspil airport at 17:00 by Qatar Airways flight.

 

2nd day.

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation at the Altezza Lodge 3 * hotel or similar in a Double standart room.

 

Day 3.

Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to the starting point of the route. Meeting with a guide and a team of Sherpas (porters). After registration we drive up to the Machame Gate. The first day is a pleasant leisurely walk through the rainforest, during which you can see colobus monkeys and wild birds. Picnic lunch on the way. Ascent from Machame Gate (1634 m / 5363 ft), trek to Machame camp (2834 m / 9300 ft). Dinner and overnight at Machame camp.

 

4th day.

Machame Camp (2834 m / 9300 ft) - Trek to Shira Camp (3749 m / 12 300 ft).

Breakfast. After leaving the Machame camp, you cross the stream and get to its western bank, then follow the trail up the steep rocky ridge. Cross it several times before reaching the Shira camp. Stop and lunch. A little rest and the continuation of the route. Dinner and overnight at the Shira camp.

 

Day 5.

Shira Camp (3749 m / 12,300 ft) - Trek to Barranco Camp (3901 m / 12,800 ft).

After breakfast at the camp, you will head to the Lava Tower (15,000 feet) for acclimatization, and then descend to Barranco Camp through the Great Barranco Wall. Lunch on the way. Overnight at the Barranco camp is one of the best on the mountain. Dinner at the camp.

 

6th day.

Camp Barranco (3900 m / 12 800 ft) - Trek to Camp Barafu (4600 m / 15 091 ft).

Breakfast. The transition on this day lasts longer than all the previous ones. After leaving the Barranco camp, the group will move along the edge of the large wall. It's a hard morning climb up a steep trail, but once you get to the plateau, you'll have great views of the surrounding area. Picnic lunch. Continuation of the route. Dinner and overnight at Barafu camp.

 

7th day.

Barafu Camp (4600 m / 15 091 ft) - Trek to the summit (5896 m / 19 343 ft) and then arrive at Mweka Camp (3100 m / 10 170 ft).

Fast breakfast. You will start the hike at 1-2 a.m., as the trek on this day will last 10-14 hours. The ascent of 1,100 meters (3,600 feet) is just over 3 km (1.86 miles) long and will take you about 6-8 hours. On the way to the summit, you watch the sunrise over the Great Rift Valley. And now you reach the top of Kilimanjaro! After watching the sunrise, there is an opportunity to take great photos. Descent back to Barafu camp for lunch and then departure to Mweka camp. Dinner and overnight at the Mweka camp.

 

Day 8.

Camp Mweka (3100 m / 10 170 ft) to Mweka Gate (1828 m / 6000 ft).

On the last day, you will have a short 3-hour walk through the dense forest. You meet our driver at the gates of Mweka Park. Transfer to Moshi. Overnight at the Altezza Lodge 3 * or similar. Free time in the evening.

 

Day 9.

After breakfast, meet your guide / driver, drive to Tarangire National Park, drive to the park, lunch at the lodge and afternoon safari. In this wildlife park, you can see lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, oryx, impalas and many other savannah animals. Also, the park is home to over 450 species of birds, as well as many unique trees and other vegetation, including baobabs and several species of acacias. It is also the only place in Tanzania where you can see pythons. They often rest in the trees. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.

 

Day 10.

Early breakfast in Tarangire, then departure to the Great Serengeti National Park through the Ngorongoro Nature Reserve and safari along the way. Lunch will take place in a picnic format, after which you will continue your safari in the Serengeti Park. Serengeti Park is the original habitat of lions, leopards, elephants, cheetahs, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, cannes, gazelles, crocodiles and many others. In June-July, many wild animals come to watering places in certain places. This is where the group is heading. Dinner and overnight at the tent camp.

 

Day 11.

After breakfast, time for a short trip to Serengeti Park and then we drive to Ngorongoro Wildlife Sanctuary. Here you have the opportunity to Meet the Masai-boma (ancient Masai), get acquainted with the local Masai tribe and study their culture. Then rest and dinner, overnight in a tent camp.

 

12th day.

Sightseeing tour of the Ngorongoro crater. Early breakfast, departure and descent to the bottom of the Crater to enjoy the safari. All the Big Five - rhinos, lions, leopards, buffaloes and elephants - live in this wonderful caldera. Also here you can see zebras, hippos, wildebeest, hyenas and other local inhabitants. Next, visit Lake Natron, where you will see flocks of flamingos, geese, storks, vultures and many other species of local birds. Your lunch will be served at the picnic area by the Ngoitoktok reservoir, home to many hippos. After lunch, the journey continues. At the end of the excursion, you return to Moshi for a rest at the Altezza Lodge 3 * hotel or similar in a Double standart room.

 

Day 13.

Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport and flight to Kiev with a change in Doha.

 

Day 14.

Arrival to Kiev.
