There are many migrants among the birds from the continent of Eurasia. The park is most interesting during the Great Migration, which takes place in the summer, after the end of the rainy season, when huge herds of animals (according to some estimates, up to two million) migrate across the vast expanses of the savanna in search of pastures. Artiodactyls go first, eating up to 4000 tons of grass per day, followed by predators, birds, and vultures. It is believed that animals travel up to 3000 km. Occupies the area between the Great Rift Valley and Lakes Victoria and Eyasi. This is one of the most famous nature reserves in the world, which at one time suffered from the invasion of hunters who killed a large number of animals. In order to prevent the Serengeti ecosystem from being destroyed, its territory was declared a National Park in 1959. Today, 35 species of animals (more than three million individuals) live here; about 90,000 tourists visit the park annually. Savannah picnic lunch. Arrival at the lodge in the evening. Dinner. Lake Manyara has a long history, it was formed about 2.5 million years ago, when the GreatThe rift valley and one of the lowlands were filled with water. Despite the fact that the park occupies a relatively small area (330 km 2), it has a variety of landscapes and natural areas, as well as a wide variety of fauna. It is home to about 400 species of birds, and about a hundred of them can be seen in just one day in the park! It is home to pink flamingos, large herons, pelicans, ibises, storks, cormorants, marabou and others. Lazy hippos doze in local waters, and huge herds of monkeys frolic in the lush forests. Elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, zebras live in sufficient numbers near the lake. But the main highlight of the local nature is the lions living in the trees.
