World class lectures. The Viking Lecture Program is designed to shed light on art, architecture, music, geopolitics, the natural world, and more. They are read by a wide range of experts, from authors and archaeologists to former diplomats and news correspondents who want to share their knowledge with you. These include both visiting lecturers who provide key insights into their particular area of expertise, and extraordinary life lecturers who share wonderful experiences from around the world.
Each Viking itinerary includes Destination, the region's most iconic cultural performing arts - be it Catalan rumba, Portuguese fado, traditional Greek dances, Italian opera, or world-renowned Mariinsky performers from St. Petersburg. The wide range of talents includes seasoned folklore performers and classically trained singers from the geographic regions they represent.
Theater shows. Whether you're in the mood for an exclusive Viking musical, fantasy opera or ABBA music, theater shows are the perfect night out.
There are many bars and lounges on board with live music playing all the time. These are great places to enjoy drinks, relax and simply enjoy the intriguing atmosphere.
The ship has two beautiful pools that tempt you to swim or relax on sun loungers in fine weather. The main pool is covered with a retractable roof, allowing it to be used even in bad weather. It is a very nice pool with a fountain and a hot tub. Sun loungers, as well as tables and sofas, surround the space, and there are soft sun loungers next to the glass windows so you can grab a blanket and watch the view.
Deck 8 has a solarium where you will find even more sun loungers. There is also a smoking area.
The sports field (Deck 9) includes a golf course, ping-pong table, shuffleboard and bocce court. Usage depends on route and weather.
Visit several jewelry stores only open when the ship is at sea. More popular is the small shop, which not only stocks all sorts of stuff and goods with the Viking logo, but also a curated section of clothing, footwear and outerwear from Norwegian brands.
One of the best features of Viking Jupiter and the entire Viking Ocean fleet is the incredible Nordic Thermal Spa, which is included in the cruise price. Not only does the space look great, it is based on Scandinavian principles of exposing the body to heat and cold through steam rooms, saunas and plunge pools. The complex features a warm thalassotherapy pool, hot tub, steam room, heated ceramic lounges and a snow room.
Fitness lovers will find a gym with cardiovascular equipment - treadmills, exercise bikes and elliptical trainers.
The Restaurant. The main dining venue is the Scandinavian-style restaurant serving the finest dishes on board. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in an open and welcoming atmosphere. The menu features regional cuisine and always-on American classics, complemented by local ingredients, so you can explore cultures while trying something new.
Manfredi's Italian restaurant. Serves the finest Italian cuisine, whether inspired by the farmhouse heart of Tuscany or famous flavors in the heart of Rome. Subdued ambient lighting creates a warm and inviting atmosphere in this traditional restaurant, reminiscent of Italy's favorite trattorias (home-cooked restaurants) and its rich European heritage. Chianti (dry red wine) in decanters, freshly made pasta accompanied by fresh seafood. The private dining room of this restaurant provides the opportunity to dine with family, business colleagues or new friends.
The Chef's Table. Sommeliers and culinary experts create the perfect combination of food and wine. During the tasting, they serve selected drinks and serve the best dishes.
World Café. The open kitchen and buffet buffet café provides a vibrant atmosphere and a wide variety of international dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. You can dine indoors or outdoors at tables on the Aquavit Terrace, which offers stunning panoramic views.
Mamsen's. Located in the Explorers' Lounge, this restaurant serves Norwegian food for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea or evening treats. The many menu items include Scandinavian pastries and cakes.
Pool Grill: For a relaxed lunch or afternoon snack, the Pool Grill serves casual cooked-to-order cuisine. A small salad bar is available for light meals.
