There are many different entertainments on board. The main theater is located entirely at the front of the ship, on Deck 2. It hosts the ship's shows, as well as various lectures, films and broadcasts. The space is simple, comfortable and modern, with benches and soft seating around the main stage.
Movies are shown on the big screen several evenings in Wintergarden. Passengers can sit on soft chairs under blankets.
Most of the entertainment on board falls into the category of intellectual enrichment. Several lectures are offered each day and most of them are well attended. The enrichment lectures cover a huge and fascinating array of topics. They are not necessarily tied to the region the ship is sailing to; they also cover many other topics, such as climate change. Lecturers are historians and experts in their fields who know how to grab the attention of an audience.
The halls and lounges at Viking Sea are cool, casual and relaxed. You will never have problems with socializing with new friends as long as you are entertained by singers, dancers and musicians.
There is a main pool on board, located in the center of the ship on the 7th deck. The pool area is calm with plenty of sun loungers and seating areas in the sun or shade. The pool is surrounded by a long, narrow hot tub. The entire area can be covered with a retractable roof, which is closed in inclement weather and at night.
The Viking Heritage Museum, located on Deck 2, provides a little insight into Norse history along with replicas of clothing and jewelry.
There are also several small shops on Decks 1 and 2 where you can buy jewelry, snacks, Viking logo items and essentials. One store specializes in Norwegian brands selling high quality wool sweaters, toys, books and jewelry.
One of the most popular cruise ship spas is Liv Nordic Spa. A unique feature is the snow grotto, a small, glassed-in room filled with ice shavings (which really does echo the snow). Go in the morning if you want to see some fresh "snow". There are more spa treatments for every taste.
There is also a fitness center, sports and promenade decks on board.
Lunch aboard the Viking Sea is a real treat. All meals are free, including in specialized restaurants.
No matter where you dine or dine, the food feels special because of the superior quality and service. Complimentary house wine, beer and soft drinks are served for lunch and dinner.
The following restaurants are offered: restaurant (dining room), buffets (Viking Deli, World Cafe), Aquavit Terrace (outdoors), specialties (Italian grill, chef's table), private dining room (2 rooms).
