MSC Cruises, together with leading epidemiologists, virologists and engineers, has developed and implemented a special protocol for the protection of the health and safety of passengers and crew members, which strictly regulates all aspects of your journey: booking a cruise, boarding a liner, life on board, leaving ports and returning home . The measures below apply to all 2022 cruises and are subject to change as the situation develops.

On all cruises in the coming months, all guests will be required to strictly adhere to boarding requirements.
 
 
Cruises in the Mediterranean
 
In addition to the MSC Cruises protocol requirements below, please review the rules for entering and leaving the country where the cruise starts.
 
Requirements for citizens of Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.
 
Cruises departing from ports in Italy and Malta are not available until 01/31/2022.
 
Landing in the ports of Spain and France will be allowed with all the documents listed below (passengers will not be able to go ashore when calling at the ports of Italy and Malta):
 
Requirements for citizens of Ukraine
 
Boarding will be permitted if all of the following documents are present:
 
1. Confirmation of full vaccination with an EMA-approved vaccine* (second vaccine component or booster must be received no later than 14 days prior to departure and no earlier than 6 months prior to departure**). The rule applies to all passengers 12 years of age and older.
The original certificate (paper format) must be presented at the cruise terminal prior to boarding. The certificate must be in English, Italian, German, French or Spanish.
 
2. Negative PCR test within 48 hours** prior to cruise departure. The rule applies to all passengers 2 years and older.
The original test (in paper format) must be presented at the cruise terminal before boarding. The certificate must be in English, Italian, German, French or Spanish and contain: the guest's personal details (verified along with other travel documents), the date of the test, the identification/contact details of the center that performed the test, the methodology used and the negative result of the test.
 
3. Special insurance policy, including: medical insurance, travel cancellation insurance, accident insurance (adapted to the requirements of MSC Cruises). This insurance package is only available to passengers up to and including 90 years of age.
The cost depends on the age of the passenger and the duration of the tour; for example, for a tourist under 70 years old, insurance for 8 days will cost ~ 30 €.

For cruises on MSC LIRICA (Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Israel) from 04/11/2022 to 10/17/2022, SPUTNIK V is also included in the list of approved vaccines.
 
Note: we recommend choosing the ports of Greece, Turkey, Cyprus for landing, because Israel often imposes additional entry restrictions due to the spread of the coronavirus, and if you visit it only in transit, you can still make a cruise while staying on board during the call to Haifa.

Requirements for EU citizens (including residence permit holders)

Boarding will be permitted if all of the following documents are present:
 
1. Confirmation of full vaccination with an approved vaccine for the region* (the second vaccine component or booster must be received no later than 14 days before departure and no earlier than 6 months before departure**). The rule applies to all passengers 12 years of age and older.

2. Negative PCR or antigen test within 48 hours prior to cruise departure. The rule applies to all passengers 2 years and older.
 
When landing in Southampton, a PCR test must be done no earlier than 48 hours before departure.
 
The original test (in paper format) must be presented at the cruise terminal before boarding. The certificate must be in English, Italian, German, French or Spanish and contain: the guest's personal details (verified along with other travel documents), the date of the test, the identification/contact details of the center that performed the test, the methodology used and the negative result of the test.
 
Note: when landing in Malta, proof of full vaccination with an EMA-approved vaccine* (the second component of the vaccine must be received no later than 14 days before departure) is required for all guests from 12 years old and a negative result of a PCR test or an antigen test done no earlier than 48 hours before cruise departure, for all guests aged 2 and over.
 
Also, passengers must provide proof of a special insurance policy, which is issued along with the cruise in MSC Cruises (insurance company - Europe Assistance). Guests are required to present this document when boarding the ship. In case of his absence, boarding will be denied.

General requirements

According to the new requirements of the Italian authorities, when using transport in the country, including buses, tourists must use FFP2 masks. If other masks are used, tourists will be denied transportation.Anchor
 
All passengers starting and/or ending their cruise in Malta are required to complete the Malta PLF form.
 
Please note that passengers who have been in or transited a LIST E country in the previous 14 days will be denied boarding at Italian ports. At the same time, they can make a cruise when landing in the ports of countries open to them, but remaining on board during calls to the ports of Italy.
 
 
 
Northern Europe 2022
 
Winter cruises on MSC MAGNIFICA are temporarily suspended from 12/19/21 to 02/05/22.
 
In addition to the MSC Cruises protocol requirements below, please review the rules for entering and leaving the country where the cruise starts.
 
Requirements for citizens of Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.
 
Cruises are not available (current official ban until 02/28/2022).
 
Requirements for citizens of Ukraine
 
Boarding will be permitted if all of the following documents are present:
 
1. Confirmation of full vaccination with an EMA-approved vaccine* (second vaccine component or booster must be received no later than 14 days prior to departure and no earlier than 9 months prior to departure**). The rule applies to all passengers 12 years of age and older.

2. Negative PCR test result within 72 hours prior to cruise departure. The rule applies to all passengers 2 years and older.
The original test (in paper format) must be presented at the cruise terminal before boarding. The certificate must be in English, Italian, German, French or Spanish and contain: the guest's personal details (verified along with other travel documents), the date of the test, the identification/contact details of the center that performed the test, the methodology used and the negative result of the test.
 
3. Special insurance policy, including: medical insurance, travel cancellation insurance, accident insurance (adapted to the requirements of MSC Cruises). This insurance package is only available to passengers up to and including 90 years of age.

The certificate must be in English, Italian, German, French or Spanish and contain: the guest's personal details (verified along with other travel documents), the date of the test, the identification/contact details of the center that performed the test, the methodology used and the negative result of the test.
Also, passengers must provide proof of a special insurance policy, which is issued along with the cruise in MSC Cruises (insurance company - Europe Assistance).
 
    
 
Consultation on any issues:
 
The insurance policy must be in English, Italian, German, French or Spanish, clearly stating the insurance coverage for COVID-19. Guests are required to present this document when boarding the ship. In case of his absence, boarding will be denied.

General requirements
 
To enter the countries included in the itinerary, there may be requirements for the mandatory completion of the PLF form (Passenger locator form), the passenger must independently track and comply with these requirements.
 
All passengers starting their cruise in Hamburg or Southampton are required to complete the German PLF form. For other passengers, this is not required at the moment, in case of changes, passengers will be informed on board.
 
To attend an organized excursion, or self-guided shoreline, or to complete a cruise in Southampton (UK), passengers must complete the UK PLF form 48 hours in advance. Those who will not go ashore do not need to complete the form. Passengers ending their cruise in Southampton are additionally required to book a PCR test for Covid in the UK prior to disembarkation (due 2 days after disembarkation) and to self-isolate from disembarkation until results are available. If travelers leave the UK less than 48 hours after disembarking, no test is required, but self-isolation is required prior to departure. Anchor
 
In order to attend an organized excursion, or self-go ashore, or complete a cruise in Zeebrugge (Belgium), passengers must complete the Belgian PLF form (completion is available as early as 180 days before entering Belgium). Those who will not go ashore do not need to complete the form. Passengers starting their cruise in Zeebrugge require ashape before planting.
 
 
 
UAE and Persian Gulf 2022
 
Requirements for citizens of Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and the EU (including residence permit holders).
 
Boarding will be permitted if all of the following documents are present:
 
1. Confirmation of full vaccination with an approved vaccine for the region* (the second component of the vaccine must be received no later than 14 days before departure). The rule applies to all passengers 12 years of age and older.
The original certificate (paper format) must be presented at the cruise terminal prior to boarding. The certificate must be in English, Italian, German, French or Spanish.
 
Note: Passengers vaccinated with Sputnik V/Sinopharm/Sinovac to enter Qatar will also need a POSITIVE post-vaccination antibody test (blood test) taken no more than 30 days prior to entry into Qatar and at least 14 days days from the date of vaccination with the second dose.
 
2. Negative PCR test result within 72 hours prior to cruise departure. The rule applies to all passengers 2 years and older.
When landing in Abu Dhabi, the PCR test must be done no earlier than 48 hours before departure.
The original test (in paper format) must be presented at the cruise terminal before boarding. The certificate must be in English, Italian, German, French or Spanish and contain: the guest's personal details (verified along with other travel documents), the date of the test, the identification/contact details of the center that performed the test, the methodology used and the negative result of the test.
 
3. Also, all cruise passengers aged 2 and over must undergo a PCR test for COVID at the airport upon arrival in the UAE. After testing, a sticker with a QR code will be stuck on your passport, which you present at the seaport. It is not required to undergo testing at the seaport, it is allowed to wait for the test result on board the liner. Passengers who have not been tested at the airport will have to undergo a COVID test already at the port at their own expense, in a commercial laboratory (42 USD / person), in which case it is possible to wait for the test result at the port.
 
Attention! According to the current requirements of the UAE authorities for citizens of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, all arriving guests are given a COVID test upon arrival. However, if for some reason the airport employees do not test you (often this applies to children), then you need to insist on having it, explaining that this is a requirement for cruise passengers (cruise passengers).
For citizens of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, a COVID test upon arrival by the UAE authorities is not required and is done only selectively. Therefore, passengers need to insist on holding it, explaining that this is a requirement for cruise passengers (cruise passengers).

Visiting Qatar
 
Landfall in Doha for transit passengers is only possible as part of an organized MSC tour. We recommend booking an excursion before the cruise, because. when booking, there may not be available seats on board.
 
Passengers vaccinated with SPUTNIK V or Sinopharm or Sinovac vaccines to visit Qatar will require a positive post-vaccination antibody test (blood test) taken no more than 30 days before entering Qatar and no less than 14 days from the date of vaccination second dose.
 
Regardless of the port of embarkation, all passengers must complete the Qatar PLF form (Ehteraz portal - www.ehteraz.gov.qa) prior to boarding the ship. This includes uploading a copy of the first pages of the passport, a copy of the vaccination certificate, and a positive antibody test result (only for Sputnik V/ Sinopharm/ Sinovac vaccinations). After the application is approved, the passenger will receive a confirmation by mail, which will be checked by Qatar services when leaving the liner in Doha (as a rule, the application consideration period is 24-48 hours, but may be up tolonger, so it is important to send this application before boarding the liner or in the port of Dubai as a last resort).
 
Note: in case of delay in receiving confirmation from the portal, the passenger will need to present a copy of the first pages of the passport, a vaccination certificate, as well as a positive antibody test result (only for Sputnik V / Sinopharm / Sinovac vaccination) to Qatar services, subject to their agreement, the passenger will be able to take part in the tour.
 
At the beginning / end of the cruise in Qatar (Doha-Doha)
 
To enter Qatar, both before the cruise and at the end of it, passengers must fill out the Qatar PLF form (Ehteraz portal - www.ehteraz.gov.qa) and receive confirmation by mail. Passengers will also need to download the Ehteraz App and activate it upon arrival in Qatar (some mobile operators do not allow you to activate the application, in which case you will need to purchase a local SIM card at the airport).
 
Please note that in addition to the vaccination certificate (and a positive antibody test result when vaccinated with Sputnik V / Sinopharm / Sinovac), to enter Qatar both before and after the cruise, all passengers from 0 years of age will need a negative result of a PCR test done not earlier than 72 hours before arrival in Qatar (in order to get off the ship, instead of a PCR test, passengers can also use an antigen test made on board no earlier than 24 hours before arrival in Qatar, for an additional fee of about 25 euros).

Visiting the ports of the UAE
 
For fully vaccinated travelers, self-going ashore in UAE ports will be allowed unless there are appropriate restrictions from local authorities on cruise passengers. Guests with unvaccinated children (up to and including 11 years of age) will only be able to go ashore as part of MSC organized tours, this rule applies to all ports, including Dubai.
 
 
 
Red Sea 2022

Also, when entering Saudi Arabia, it will be necessary to fill out a Local Health questionnaire (KSA) for all passengers from 2 years old.

Requirements for citizens of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and the EU (including residence permit holders).
 
Landing will be permitted if all of the following are present.the same documents:
 
1. Confirmation of full vaccination with an approved vaccine for the region* (the second component of the vaccine must be received no later than 14 days before departure). The rule applies to all passengers 12 years of age and older.
The original certificate (paper format) must be presented at the cruise terminal prior to boarding. The certificate must be in English, Italian, German, French or Spanish.
 
2. Negative PCR or antigen test result not earlier than 2 days prior to cruise departure for all passengers 12 years of age or older.
Negative PCR test result, taken no earlier than 3 days before the departure of the cruise, for all passengers from 2 to 11 years old. They will also be required to take a free port test before boarding.
 
For children under 2 years of age, PCR test results are not required.
 
The original test (in paper format) must be presented at the cruise terminal before boarding. The certificate must be in English, Italian, German, French or Spanish and contain: the guest's personal details (verified along with other travel documents), the date of the test, the identification/contact details of the center that performed the test, the methodology used and the negative result of the test.
